GATE Biotechnology 2020 Eligibility Criteria

GATE Biotechnology 2020 Eligibility Criteria- GATE 2020 (Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering) will be conducted by IIT Guwahati on February 03, 04, 10 & 11, 2020. The online registration for the same will commence on September 01, 2020. In order to apply, candidates have to check all eligibility norms of GATE 2020 Examination.

GATE Biotechnology 2020 Eligibility Criteria

The GATE 2020 Eligibility Criteria includes age limit, minimum educational qualification and nationality, required to apply for the exam. Candidates are advised to check all eligibility norms carefully.

GATE Biotechnology 2020 Eligibility- Nationality

  • Indian Candidates having a valid proof are eligible to apply.
  • Candidates who are citizen of Nepal, Ethiopia, Bangladesh, United Arab Emirates, Singapore, and Sri Lanka are also eligible.

Candidates’ nationality will be checked during the counselling process and candidates have to submit a valid proof stating their nationality. Hence, confirm all provided details before submitting the filled GATE application form.

GATE Biotechnology 2020 Eligibility- Age Limit

There is no age limit for appearing in GATE Examination.

GATE Biotechnology 2020 Eligibility- Educational Qualification

Qualifying Degree

Qualifying Degree / Examination

Description of Eligible Candidates

B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Pharm.

Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/ Technology (4 years after 10+2 or 3 years after B.Sc./ Diploma in Engineering/ Technology) and those who are in the final year of such programs

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

B. Arch.

Bachelor’s degree in Architecture (Five years course)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

B.Sc. (Research)/ B.S.

Bachelor’s degree in Science (Post-Diploma/ 4 years after 10+2)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

M. Sc./ M.A./ MCA or equivalent

Master’s degree in any branch of Science/ Mathematics / Statistics/ Computer Applications or equivalent

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Int. M.E/ M.Tech (Post-B.Sc.)

Post-BSc Integrated Master’s degree programs in Engineering / Technology (Four year program)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Int. M.E./ M.Tech or Dual Degree (after Diploma or 10+2)

Integrated Master’s degree program or Dual Degree program in Engineering / Technology (Five year program)

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2019 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Int. M.Sc/ Int. B.S.-M.S.

Integrated M.Sc. or Five year integrated B. S./ M. S. program

Candidates who have complete the degree before 2020 or Appearing candidates can apply.

Professional Society Examination (equivalent to B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch.)

B.E./ B.Tech./ B.Arch. equivalent examinations of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/ UPSC/ AICTE (e.g., AMIE by Institution of Engineers-India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers-India)

Completed Section A or equivalent of such professional courses

 

For International Candidates-

Candidates must have a degree in Biotechnology Engineering or are in the final year of their Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology or Post-graduate (M.Sc.) degree in Biotechnology.

Minimum Qualifying Marks for Biotechnology

The minimum qualifying marks of Biotechnology examination are necessary to be obtained, if you want to get admission in desired M.Tech courses. Check the below-given previous year’s minimum marks to qualify the exam. These marks vary according to the difficulty level of exam and number of candidates appeared.

  • For General Candidates- 38.90
  • For OBC Candidates- 35.00
  • For SC/ ST/ PwD Candidates- 25.90
