Delhi University Joint Admission Test 2020

DU JAT 2020 Application Procedure:

Step 1: JAT is a paper-pencil test that is usually conducted offline. However, candidates will need to fill their application forms in the month of May. However, they need to ensure that they fulfil the university’s eligibility conditions in order to appear in the Delhi University JAT 2020. The following table gives you the eligibility conditions you must meet.

Step 2: Candidates should confirm their eligibility and possess the mark sheets of their qualifying exam that will have to be produced when called for interview/GD. Students belonging to reserved categories should check that they possess the category certificate too.

Step 3: Candidates should fill the online application form for taking Delhi University JAT 2020 exam. They should have the below-mentioned documents before they start filling the form:

• The mark sheet for class 12
• A scanned passport-size photograph
• Their scanned signature
• Valid email ID and mobile phone number
• Figures of total annual family income (in INR)
• A credit or debit card for online fee payment

Step 4: Candidates should provide all the required details in the online form carefully and correctly. This can be done after online registration. Delhi University officials will announce JAT cut-off list after the entrance exam is conducted ane results are declared. DU JAT 2020 Syllabus 

The 2-hour Joint Admission Test contains 120 multiple-choice questions. You get three marks for each correct answer and one negative mark for each incorrect answer. There are 30 questions each in four different sections, and each section is worth 90 marks. The syllabus for each of these sections includes:

• General English – topics like paragraph comprehension, error identification, vocabulary, grammar usage, deductive reasoning, analogies, idioms, and syllogisms
• Business and General Awareness – topics like Indian and world history, science and technology, business terminologies, books and authors, logos, brands, taglines, government and politics, personalities, and business entities
• Quantitative Ability – topics like visual reasoning, inferential reasoning, mathematical series, averages, numbers, profit-loss, time and work, and graphs and pie charts
• Reasoning and Analytical Ability – topics like logical puzzles, analogies, family tree, arrangements, coding-decoding, and groups and conditionality

DU JAT 2020 Preparation Tips:

Here are some quick tips for Delhi University JAT 2020 preparation -

• Take regular mock tests available online or in books to not only practice similar questions but also learn time management. Follow the exam pattern to time yourself in mock tests.
• Read at least two leading English newspapers daily for an hour or two.
• Pick a nice data interpretation book to prepare for this section.
• Find a few difficult words daily and note them down with their meaning and usage. Keep revising your lists. You can do the same with math formulas and concepts.
• Use previous years’ papers and practice solving them. If you cannot get it for JAT, then go for papers from other exams that follow the same syllabus.

DU JAT 2020 - What after Result?

After the result of Delhi University JAT 2020 is declared in July, successful candidates in the merit list can appear in the process of counselling. The counselling will most likely happen in the month of August. Candidates will be allotted a seat according to their performance in the exam and their rank on the final list. During counselling towards admissions, candidates will have to be ready with the following documents: 

• JAT admit card
• Class 12^th mark sheet and certificate
• Income certificate (for OBC candidates)
• Category certificate, if applicable

The final admission will take place for around 1,000 seats across all participating colleges.
