AICTE to Conduct CMAT from 27 Sep – 1 Oct 2012 for 2013-14 MBA Programmes

The dates for Common Management Admission Test (CMAT 2012), the national, computer-based entrance exam conducted by AICTE for admissions to post graduate programmes in management for the year 2013-14 have been announced. This is the first CMAT for the year 2013-14, which will be held from 27 September to 1 October 2012.


The second CMAT is expected to be conducted in February 2013. Students are eligible to appear for both the exams and the best of the two scores will be used for admissions for 2013-14.

About CMAT

CMAT (Common Management Admission Test) is the only test for admission to MBA programmes in AICTE approved institutions and University Departments of all the states, and one of the five tests for PGDM programmes for 2013-14.

The detailed merit list will be provided to the respective State Governments for allotting the students through central counseling or otherwise as per their notified admission procedure.

CMAT September Admit Card 2012 is available for download from 17 September 2012 from 10 am onwards.
 

Eligibility Criteria for first CMAT for 2013-14 Academic Session

Graduates in any discipline or final year students of graduate courses can apply for CMAT


Registration Process for first CMAT for 2013-14 Academic Session

The test fee for CMAT exam is Rs. 1200 for the General and OBC category candidates and Rs. 600 for the SC/ST/PD candidates plus the applicable bank charges.

You have to register online on the website www.aicte-cmat.in between 3 Aug & 2 Sep 2012 & choose 3 cities for the computer based CMAT in the order of your preference. The allotment of the test-city will be on a first-come-first-serve basis. Allotment would also be subject to availability of the slots in a particular city


Test Cities

CMAT 2013-14 would be held across 64 cities in India. These cities are Agartala, Ahmedabad, Allahabad, Amravati, Amritsar, Ananthapur, Aurangabad, Bangalore, Bareily, Bhopal, Bhubaneswar, Chandigarh, Chennai, Coimbatore, Dehradun, Delhi, Dhanbad, Dharwad, Durgapur, Ghaziabad, Gurgaon, Guwahati, Gwalior, Hyderabad, Indore, Jabalpur, Jaipur, Jammu, Jamshedpur, Jhansi, Jodhpur, Kanpur, Kochi, Kolhapur, Kolkata, Kota, Kozhikode, Lucknow, Ludhiana, Madurai, Mumbai, Mysore, Nagpur, Nasik, Noida, Panaji, Patna, Prakasam, Pondicherry, Pune, Rajkot, Raipur, Ranchi, Shimla, Siliguri, Srinagar, Surat, Trichurapalli, Trivandrum, Udaipur, Vadodara, Varanasi, Visakhapatnam and Warangal.


Mode of Payment for CMAT

1. Net Banking / Credit / Debit Card: online payment through the website www.aicte-cmat.in
2. Cash Payment: Through challan generated online and cash deposited in any branch of State Bank of India (SBI)


Admission Process after CMAT

The detailed merit list will be provided to the respective State Governments for allotting the students through central counselling. In case there is no central counselling, the scores awarded will be used for admission in the AICTE approved Institutes or University Departments.


CMAT Pattern

According to a tender released by the AICTE (All India Council for Technical Education) on 30th June 2012, CMAT is expected to have 100 questions and would be of three hours (180 minutes) duration covering the following four subjects:

(i) Quantitative Techniques and Data Interpretation (QTDI)
(ii) Logical Reasoning (LR)
(iii) General Awareness (GA)
(iv) Language Comprehension (LC)
 

CMAT 2012 exam for 2012-13 academic session was held between 20 – 28 February 2012 & had 4 sections with 25 questions each.
