National Institutes of Technology (NITs) are Institutes of National Importance and are Centrally Funded Technical Institutes. The NIMCET is NIT MCA Common Entrance Test, a National Level Test conducted by NITs for admission in to their MCA programme.

The admission to the MCA prgoramme in to NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal for the year 2012-13 is be based on the Rank obtained in NIMCET-2012 ONLY.

The Curriculum and Syllabi of Master of Computer Applications (MCA) programme offered by NITs are designed considering the needs of different Information Technology Firms in India and abroad.  

MCA graduates have high potential for jobs in IT Sector.

Eligibility Criteria for NIMCET 2012:

Indian Nationals securing 60% marks or 6.5/10 CGPA (55% or 6.0/10 CGPA for SC/ST) in each of the examinations of
 

• 12th level with Mathematics
• Bachelor’s degree of full time 3 year duration from a recognized University

Application Procedure for NIMCET 2012: 

• There are two methods of submitting the application form.
• The candidates who wish to apply online can do so by downloading the form from the authorized website of the NIMCET.
• The completed form along with the relevant documents should be sent to the address given below.
• Candidates can also receive their forms through post.
• The application fee for the entrance exam of the MCA course is Rs.1000 for general and OBC candidates and Rs.500 for candidates of the SC/ST category.
• The finished application form, attached with a DD taken in favor of the Director, NIT, Kurukshetra – NIMCET, should be sent to the mentioned address. The Candidates are suggested to note down their personal details like name, address and phone number on the back side of the DD.
