DU Admission Starts: All You’d Know

Finally, DU admission starts today and so does the students’ hunt to find a seat in a college of their choice. Keeping the hassles students used to face in filling various forms, reaching out to various colleges in person, bear the weathering heat of sun and inconvenience involved in mind, Delhi University (DU) this time has ended the fatigue of students. Admission in any of the Delhi University Colleges won’t be as tiring this time as it used to be, thanks to DU’s centralised registration process and online admissions.

What could really be deemed as a paradigm shift, DU admission for all its undergraduate courses this year in any of its colleges has gone fully online. Meaning, aspirants need not step out of the convenience of their living space to fill a form, deposit fee or pick a college this year.
Beginning from today onwards, aspirants now will be able to fill in the application forms, upload documents, pay the registration fee and select a college… all with the click of a mouse and from their home. Here are certain things you need to know before candidates start their journey and get their coveted seat in a college of their dream.

How the online process works

The first thing to know before you start filling the online application is how the entire process for taking DU admission works. In the first step, aspirants need to log into to the Delhi University portal, register on the website and fill in the application form. Students will be able to select courses in the form but not the colleges. Only after the applicants pay the fee, the online admission process will be initiated.

Documents required

Other than filling up the form, the candidates need to add the soft/scanned copies of documents. The certificates that need to be attached with the application form for DU admission include:

  1. Self attested copies of 10th and 12th mark sheets
  2. Scanned copy of the signature with 140X 60px (width X height) and max 50KB in size.
  3. Scanned copy of recent self-attested passport size photograph 100X140px (Width X Height) not more than 50KB in size.
  4. Scanned copy of ID Proof that can be Aadhar Card, Driving License, PAN Card, Voter's Identity Card, Passport, College Identity Card) Self attested of max 100KB in size. 
  5. Any reserved category/sport/ECA//CW/ Migrant certificate/Kashmiri Migrant Quota certificate if applicable issued by the concerned authority in the name of the candidate.
