Tips to prepare for CAT 2020

CAT Eligibility Criteria 2020 - Equivalent Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering/Technology (4 years after 10+2/Post B.Sc./Post Diploma ) or B.E/B.Tech equivalent examinations, of Professional Societies, recognized by MHRD/UPSC/AICTE (e.g. AMIE by Institution of Engineers -India, AMICE by the Institute of Civil Engineers India).

  • In case the equivalent qualification possessed by the candidate is not covered in those mentioned above, then he/she will have to get an equivalence certificate from Association of Indian Universities New Delhi.

CAT Eligibility Criteria 2020 – Key Points to be kept in mind

  1. If candidates waiting for their final year result are selected, they will be granted provisional admission. Such permission will be given only if they will be able to submit a certificate on or before 30 June 2020 stating the fulfillment of all the requirements as required for obtaining their respective bachelor’s degree/equivalent qualification on the date of the issue of the certificate. The candidate must reach out to the Principal/Registrar of their College/Institute from where they have pursued their Bachelor’s Degree for getting this requisite certificate.
  2. On getting provisionally admitted into IIM, such candidate will be required to submit original mark sheet & qualifying degree certificate of having passed Bachelor’s Degree before 31 December 2020 in order to confirm their admission. Failing to do so, the provisional admission will stand cancelled.
  3. If the candidates are awarded grades/CGPA instead of marks in their Bachelor’s degree then such grades/CGPA will be converted to percentage of marks according to the procedure certified by the university/institution from where they would have obtained their bachelor’s degree.
  4. But in case, the university/ institution will not have any scheme/provision for conversion of the CGPA into equivalent marks, then such an equivalence will be determined by dividing the candidate’s CGPA by the maximum possible CGPA and multiplying the result with 100.
