CAT Score Validity - Good news for CAT aspirants! IIM-Ahmedabad is considering extending the validity of the CAT (Common Admission Test) score for up to five years.

Right now, the validity of CAT score is just one year. However, the IIM-Ahmedabad committee will soon take a decision on increasing the validity period. They are contemplating this move to ensure that the students who take admission have some work experience before joining the Institute.

Dr Ashish Nanda, director of the Indian Institute of Management-Ahmedabad, says the students who take admission in the institute are brilliant but most of them lack work experience. He also pointed out that aspirants appear for the CAT exam right after their graduation and want to be enrolled because their score is not valid for the next year.

The proposed move is in line with the pattern of GMAT (Graduate Management Admission Test), which is conducted by Graduate Management Admission Council. The score for the GMAT exam is valid for five years, and it is usually taken by students planning to go abroad to pursue their management education at foreign universities.

Lately, a lot of students are opting for the GMAT exam because its scores are not just accepted abroad but a lot of Indian institutes have started giving admission on the basis of this exam.

Another important change that the IIM-A is considering is regarding the pattern of the CAT exam, which has very tough data interpretation and logical reasoning questions.
