CLAT 2020 or Common Law Admission Test is a national level examination organised by the 17 Law universities on a rotational basis. CLAT is conducted for aspirants who seek admission in integrated LL.B and LL.M courses offered by these 17 prominent National Law Universities. It is conducted every year in the month of May.

The CLAT application form 2020 is now available on the official website of CLAT. The application form can be filled online only. Candidates will have to upload scanned documents like a photograph, signature, educational certificates etc. while filling the application form. The details must be entered very carefully. The application fee can be paid online via net banking or offline via e-challan.
The last date to submit the application form is March 31, 2020.

UG Qualifications: For undergraduate programmes, a candidate must have passed 10+2 or an equivalent examination from a recognised board with minimum 45% marks. Candidates who are still appearing for the final examinations can also apply. There is no age limit for CLAT 2020.
PG Qualifications: For postgraduate programmes, a candidate should have passed LL.B or an equivalent degree from a recognised board with a minimum of 55% marks. Those who are in their final semester can also apply.
All the candidates must note that they have to provide their educational certificates at the time of admissions, without which the admission procedure will not be carried out.
Age Limit: From the year 2020, candidates who are above the age of 20 years may not be allowed to sit for CLAT. According to sources, age restrictions for CLAT will be imposed from the coming year itself. CLAT core committee has shared that no CLAT aspirant above the age of 20 years will be allowed to sit for the exam if the proposal to have age limit criteria in CLAT exam is approved.

CLAT 2020 will be conducted on May 14, 2020, at various centres across the country. The following table shows all the important dates for CLAT 2020.

The exam will be conducted on one day itself and it will be a two-hour examination. It will be a computer-based test having objective-type questions.

CLAT 2020 will be a two-hour, computer-based examination. The CLAT exam will be of 200 marks. For each correct answer, one mark will be given and for each incorrect answer, 0.25 marks will be deducted. More than one answer for a particular question shall be considered wrong and 0.25 marks shall be deducted.
The exam will cover five subjects. The table shows the distribution of marks per subject.

The exam paper will have a total of 200 questions divided into five sections. The English section will comprise of Comprehension Passages and Grammar. General Knowledge and Current Affairs section will contain questions of national and international importance. Mathematics syllabus will include elementary level Mathematics taught till class X.
The Legal Aptitude section will test the Research Aptitude and Problem-Solving Ability. Logical reasoning section will test candidates based on their Reasoning Ability through pattern identification, analogies, etc.

CLAT 2020 admit card will be available for download from April 20, 2020. Candidates can download the same from the official website of CLAT. They must note that the authorities will not send the admit card via e-mail or post.
The CLAT 2020 admit card contains all the important details of the candidate like name, date of birth, registration number, exam centre location etc. All the details must be cross-checked before downloading.
Candidates have to carry a coloured copy of the admit card along with a valid photo ID proof to the exam centre without which they will not be allowed to enter the exam hall.

The exam will be conducted on May 14, 2020, and the result will be released on May 25, 2020. Candidates can view the CLAT 2020 result on the official website. They need to enter the Login ID and Password in order to view the result. In case there is a tie between two or more students, the one having higher marks in Legal Aptitude will be given the first preference. If it’s still a tie, the candidate with higher age will be given preference.

The CLAT 2020 merit list will be released shortly after the results are declared on May 25, 2020. The counselling procedure will begin from May 29, 2020, until June 25, 2020. The counselling will be centralised and the seat allotment will be as per merit-cum-preference basis.
