Common Management Admission Test or CMAT is organized by All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE) every year. This national level exam is a passport to many management courses including (MBA, Executive PGDM, PGCM, and PGDM). CMAT score is accepted by all colleges, universities and institutions which are AICTE – approved. AICTE has set the eligibility criteria for CMAT 2020. These are the minimum norms which the candidates are supposed to fulfil in order to apply for CMAT exam. If one fails to satisfy any of the CMAT eligibility criteria, AICTE will disqualify his/her. It is expected that AICTE CMAT application process will start somewhere around the second week of October 2020.
CMAT 2020 result will be accepted by more than a thousand management institutes in India for admission in post graduate management courses. For past few years, it has been noticed that no changes have been made in the CMAT eligibility criteria. Before a candidate fills CMAT application form, it is important to have a look at the eligibility norms of CMAT 2020 for complete understanding. Candidates are requested to fill the form carefully as if the candidate fails to meet out any norm, s/he will be disqualified and the application fee will not be refunded. There is no age criteria set for CMAT eligibility. Candidates are advised to apply for CMAT 2020 only after going through the eligibility criteria.
As per the official website of AICTE CMAT (http://www.aicte-cmat.in), followings are the basic eligibility criteria for CMAT 2020 application:
- The candidates should be an Indian citizen.
- Candidates are required to have cleared bachelor’s degree in any academic program.
- Candidates studying in the final year of their bachelor’s degree are also eligible for CMAT 2020 application.
Physically challenged candidates who have 40% disability are eligible for CMAT 2020 application. This includes the candidates who are visually impaired, candidates with hearing impairment etc.
Applicants are allowed to keep a scribe/reader. They can either request for one or they can arrange on their own. There are certain eligibility norms which they have to fulfil:
- The person shouldn’t a family member or friend of the candidate.
- Age of that person should be at least 19 years on CMAT exam date (on 8th January, 2020).
- The person should not be indulged in any sort of academic tutoring.
- The person has to submit his/her original DOB certificate.
