Faculty of Management Studies was established in 1954. Delhi University MBA Application 2020

Online submission of Delhi University MBA admission application starts during the first half of October each year. The application submission process terminates by early January. Afterwards, candidates missing out the DU MBA application submission need to apply for the programme in the next term. Admission process for the DU MBA programme starts sometime during the first half of April. The last date for submitting MBA fee is sometimes during the 3rd week of April. Failing to which, the MBA seat is awarded to the next applicant on the MBA merit list prepared by the Delhi University.

Candidates interested in Delhi University MBA admission are shortlisted according to the CAT scores and other criteria such as the category and graduation scores. Hence, it is mandatory for candidates to participate in the Common Admission Test, a.k.a. CAT examinations and get a score more than the minimum cut-off score. CAT examinations are conducted by IIMs but they play no role in the selection process of Delhi University for picking up students for the various MBA programmes.

Delhi University MBA Admission Process 2020

In order to get enrolled in Delhi University for pursuing MBA, the first step is to fill-up the DU application form that is released during the month of October. The admission form is available for yearly enrolments. The 50% of the total Delhi University MBA admission seats are filled by direct admission while the university conducts entrance test and interviews to fill remaining 50% seats. Students are required to fill the MBA admission form and prepare a draft for paying the MBA application form fee.

There are various entrance exams for admission in MBA colleges. Eligibility criteria and application fees of top MBA exams vary from each other. Students looking to enrol in the various Master of Business Administration programmes offered by Delhi University are required to clear CAT cut-off, a PI round and an extempore round. Each one of the requirements is briefed up as follows:

CAT

Common Admission Test (CAT) is a computer-based test. The competitive examination consists of five different categories. They are Data Interpretation (DI), Logical Reasoning (LR), Reading Comprehension (RC), Quantitative Ability (QA), and Verbal Ability (VA). The test was started by IIMs and is conducted by one of the IIMs each year during the month of November or December.

Personal Interview

Candidates clearing the CAT cut-off are called for PI round. Prestigious teachers and important people working at Delhi University conduct the interview to judge the candidate against skills required for the MBA programme. Scores are awarded based on one’s performance during the Personal Interview round.

Extempore

A topic is given to the candidate to deliver a short speech. Scores are awarded to candidates based on the quality of the speech delivered by them.

A list of candidates that succeed in clearing the CAT cut-off, PI round and extempore round is prepared. The Delhi University MBA Admission is awarded to students as per their rankings based on the list prepared. The category and background of students also play a major role in picking students for the DU MBA courses.

Delhi University MBA Syllabus 2020

Delhi University full-time MBA programme is a 2-year course, divided into 4 semesters. Semester wise syllabus for the Full-time MBA Programme at Delhi University is summed up as follows:

Semester I

During the 1st semester of the Delhi University MBA programme, candidates are offered 8 courses, including Managerial Economics, Financial Accounting and Information Technology Management. In addition to the studies, candidates are provided several tasks and projects to advance in the basics of business, such as teamwork and problem-solving.

Semester II

The 2nd semester of Delhi University MBA programme necessitates candidates to study 8 courses that include Managements Science, Financial Management and Marketing Research. After the completion of the 2nd semester, MBA aspirants are required to undergo the summer training under some registered organisation. A report, highlighting major achievements of the candidate undergoing the summer training, needs to be submitted within 4 weeks after the commencement of the third semester. Summer training is an important step towards learning the present scenario of business industry.

Semester III

In addition to the three compulsory subject courses that candidates need to study in 3rd semester, MBA students are required to pick 5 elective courses. The three compulsory subjects during the 3rd semester are Business Ethics & Corporate Social Responsibility, Strategic Analysis and Legal Environment of Business. Elective courses are required to choose from the eight categories that are Finance, Marketing, OB & HRM, Production & Operations Management, Entrepreneurship, Information Technology Management, Services Management, and Contemporary Issues. One course is required to be picked from each elective category.

Semester IV

Students enrolled in Delhi University MBA programmes are required to choose five elective courses in the fourth and last semester of the MBA full-time programme. The compulsory subjects are Project Study, Strategic Management, and International Business Environment. Students are required to pick courses from the same options as available to them during the 3rd semester. Elective courses that were picked during the 3rd semester can’t be chosen again in the 4th semester.

Delhi University MBA Eligibility

Candidates interested in pursuing MBA from Delhi University are required to have completed a Bachelor’s Degree programme with at least 50% marks or equivalent CGPA. Candidates yet to give final year examination of graduate courses can also apply.

Candidates interested in applying for Delhi University MBA admission are ought to have opted Maths during the higher secondary education i.e. class 12th. All the requirements for enrolling in the DU MBA programme are:

·        50% or equivalent CGPA in the completed/ongoing graduate course for general categories students and 45% for SC/ST/OBC candidates

·        Mathematics as a subject in class 12th

Delhi University MBA Fee 2020

Candidates successfully bagging Delhi University MBA Admission at FMS, University of Delhi are required to pay the course fee at the start of the academic year. The estimated fee amount for the MBA programme at the Delhi University is about INR 10,000.

At the time of admission in any of the MBA courses offered by DU, candidates are required to pick-up societies. The membership fee for joining these societies are decided and paid to the Management Science Association, comprising of MBA students. The Faculty of Management Studies, Delhi University revises in the fee structure from time to time.

Delhi University MBA Cut-off 2020

Clearing CAT cut-off is one of the prerequisites for Delhi University MBA admission. The University prepares a list based on the (Common Admission Test) score of the MBA applicants for selecting students who are granted admission to the course. Candidates clearing the CAT cut-off have to appear in a Personal Interview and an extempore round. The final decision regarding the MBA admission is made based on the performance of the applicant in these three sections.
