DU Admission 2020: Candidates Can’t Block Multiple Seats Now

Vinod Sharma updated on : 07 Jun, 2020 92

Unlike the years gone by, candidates seeking DU admission won’t be able to block multiple seats this time. As per the latest Delhi University schedule, there are significant changes in the admission and withdrawal procedure. However, changing college would be possible, but the process won’t be that easy.

Once the DU cut off is announced, students are required to reach out to the colleges they have qualified for. Before doing so, the candidates need to log on to the DU portal and then select a course and the college. Once this is done, an admission slip of the college selected will be generated. Students need to take this slip and original documents that include original mark sheets and pass certificates to get admission.

Students need to get admission in the college assigned to them within three days of DU cut off is being announced. The college will ask students to submit the original certificates and will keep it along, thereby ending the earlier practice wherein students used to block multiple seats and withdraw their applications later. The college will confirm the admission on the UG admission portal.

With this, colleges will be able to avoid multiple admissions easily make Du admission process easier. However, that surely doesn’t mean students won’t be able to change the college at all. This is possible only through candidates reaching out to the college they have taken admission in and submit the application for withdrawal. Once the college approves the withdrawal and marks the same on the UG portal, candidates will be able to select another college and take admission in the courses of their liking.

In this case, the college has to return the original certificates at the earliest. The number of registered applicants seeking DU admission has reached 1,54,026 by 6PM on June 5, 2020, out of which 68,316 applicants have finished registration.
