DU Admission Criteria for B.Sc and B.Sc (Hons)

The University of Delhi (DU) is one of the top universities in India having a plethora of courses and programmes in various streams and departments. All candidates seeking admission to the BA and BA (Hons) courses must apply online as the admission process is completely based on the entrance examination conducted by the Delhi University.

Eligibility:

● The candidates who have qualified 10+2 (12th examination) or equivalent examination from any recognized board with a minimum of 50% of marks are eligible to apply
● There is no minimum age bar for admission to the undergraduate courses in Delhi University (DU) and its colleges.
*In professional courses, regulatory body prescribes minimum age requirement (such as MCI, AICTE etc.)

Admission Criteria for Mathematical Sciences

Computer Science

Mathematics, one language and two other subjects listed as academic subjects

(i) 60% or more marks in Mathematics

(ii) 55% or more marks in aggregate of four subjects including Mathematics, one language and two other subjects listed as academic subjects by the respective Boards.

Selection will be made on the basis of best four academic subjects including one language, Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry/Computer Science/Informatics Practices.

 

The students of other streams: one Language, Mathematics with two Academic Subjects with a deduction of 2%.

 

 

Mathematics,

50% marks in Mathematics and an aggregate of 45% marks in the qualifying examination

The Merit shall be determined on the basis of one language, Mathematics under academic stream and two best elective subject

For courses mentioned under serial number 1 to 4, the minimum eligibility condition is 55% or more marks in the aggregate of 3 subjects as mentioned in column 3 (Practical & Theory together)

 

Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Science subjects as mentioned in column 3 for each Honours Course

 

B.Sc. (Hons)

Biological Science

 

Physics, Chemistry,

Biology/

Bio-Technology

 

The overall percentage of 3 subjects in relevant column 3 and passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English).

 

 

 

 

 

Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Science subjects as mentioned in column 3 for each Honours Course

B.Sc. (Hons.)

Physics

Chemistry

Electronics

Instrumentation

Polymer Science

Physics, Chemistry

and Mathematics

 

The overall percentage of 3 subjects in relevant column 3 should be 55% and one compulsory language should be 50%

B.Sc.(Hons.)

Geology

B.Sc. (Hons.)

Food Technology

55% or more marks in the aggregate of 4 subjects as mentioned in column 3 (Practical & Theory together and Passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English). The overall percentage of 4 subjects in relevant column 3 should be 55% and one compulsory language should be 50%

 

Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Sciences subjects as Mentioned in Column 3.

 

B.Sc. (Hons.)

Bio-Chemistry

 

Chemistry,

Biology/Biotech and

Physics/Mathematics

Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Sciences subjects as Mentioned in Column 3.

B.Sc. (Mathematical

Sciences)

The Merit shall be determined on the basis of one language, Mathematics

and two best elective subjects under academic stream

 

B.Sc.

Physical

Science/Applied

Physical Science(s)

Physics, Chemistry/

Computer Science,

Mathematics

45% or more marks in the aggregate of 3subjects as mentioned in column 3 (Practical & Theory together) and passing in one compulsory language (i.e. English).

The overall percentage of 3 subjects in relevant column 3 should be 45% and one compulsory language should be 40%

 

Selection will be made on the basis of marks in the aggregate of 3 Science subjects as mentioned in column 2

 

B.Sc.

Life Science/Applied

Biotechnology

Note: The candidate should have passed theory and practical separately, except the candidate who has passed the qualifying examination from Council for Indian School Certificate Examination, New Delhi

List of Documents Required at the Time of Admission:

Candidate should carry following documents in original with two sets of self-attested photocopies at the time of admission.

  • Class X Board Examination Certificate
  • Class X Mark sheet
  • Class XII Marks sheet
  • Class XII Provisional Certificate / Original Certificate
  • Character Certificate (recent)
  • SC/ST/PWD/CW/KM Certificate (in the name of the candidate) issued by the competent authority
  • OBC (Non-Creamy Layer) Certificate (in the name of the Candidate) issued by competent authority
  • Transfer Certificate from school/college as well as Migration Certificate from Board/University is required from those students who have passed the senior secondary exam from outside Delhi.
