DU Admission Criteria for M.Ed

DU Admission Criteria for M.Ed 2020 (Master of Education) is a detailed guideline that students should go through to understand the application and eligibility criteria for admission in the M.Ed course in Delhi University.

In the University of Delhi, the admission to M.Ed courses is done through a common entrance exam. The entrance test is vital for admission to both full-time and part-time Master of Education courses.

The Department of Education is entrusted upon with the responsibility of conducting DU M.Ed entrance test. DU Admission Criteria for M.Ed suggests a counselling and interview be conducted for each qualified student after the entrance test to evaluate documents. Post interview, the entrance test and interview scores are both combined to make the final merit list.

Eligibility and DU Admission Criteria for M.Ed 2020

Candidates can appear for the common entrance test on basis of meeting any of the following eligibility criteria –

  • Candidates applying for M.Ed admission in Delhi University should have passed M.A / M.Com / M.Sc from Delhi University or any other university or institution equivalent thereto with 50 percent aggregate marks Or
  • Candidates should have passed B.Ed from Delhi University or any other university or institution equivalent thereto with minimum 55 percent marks in aggregate Or
  • Candidates should have passed B.A / B.Com / B.Sc from the University of Delhi or any other university or institution equivalent thereto with 60 percent marks in aggregate Or
  • Candidates should have passed B. El. Ed examination from Delhi University or any other university or institution equivalent thereto with minimum 60 percent aggregate marks Or
  • Candidates should have passed B. El. Ed in liberal component from Delhi University or any other university or institution equivalent thereto with minimum 50 percent marks Or
  • Candidates should have passed B. El. Ed in the professional component with minimum 55 percent marks in aggregate and should have two years of full-time teaching experience in a recognised educational institution
  • Candidates awaiting their final year result, or appearing for their final year exams can also apply. Such candidates will, however, be required to submit their three-year graduation mark sheets at the time of admission, which can in no case be later than August 31, 2020.

Note:

According to DU Admission Criteria for M.Ed, all candidates seeking admission in DU M.Ed part-time course also need to fulfil the aforementioned eligibility criteria. In addition to meeting the eligibility criteria above, candidates should also be working in a full-time capacity with a recognised educational institution in Delhi. There is no age limit specified for admission to M.Ed full-time and part-time courses in DU.

Purpose of the test

Merit list for DU M.Ed admission is made on the basis of the highly competitive entrance test and a round of interview that follows after the entrance test is qualified.

Interview after M.Ed Entrance Test 2020

The M.Ed entrance test carries 75 percent weightage for selection. Rest 25 percent weightage is the interview. The interview is conducted face to face and is designed to test a candidate’s understanding of all the topics tested in the entrance test along with the evaluation of his/her expression and communication skills.

As per DU Admission Criteria for M.Ed, the final selection of candidates depends on their performance in both the written test and the interview.
