Hindu College is a constituent college of the Delhi University, located in the ‘North Campus’. It is recognized as a premier institution not only in the University but, also in the whole country. Late Shri Krishan Dassji Gurwale founded it in the year 1899. It was a centre for intellectual and political debate during India’s freedom struggle, especially around the Quit India Movement.

The college offers a number of courses in the Science, Humanities and the Social Science Streams.

It provides a lively and an enriched atmosphere that enables the students to grow and develop their identities. The facilities provided by the college include well-equipped laboratories, the NSS and NCC Rooms, a Students’ Centre that offers the facilities of a seminar room, bank, computer room, stationery shop, and a photocopier, etc. The library is open to all part-time and full-time students, as well as teachers and other members of the staff. Textbooks are kept in the reserve section to enable the students to write their tutorials. On campus, the Hindu College hostel has 117 rooms to accommodate 210 boys.

The Hindu College Parliament is the only student organization of its kind in the country. All the college students and teachers are considered members. The students elect the prime minister from the student body at the beginning of each year. The speaker of the parliament is a teacher nominated by the principal in his/her capacity as the president of the Hindu College Republic.

The college has its alumni in all the fields. Some of the famous alumni are Gautam Gambhir (Cricketer), Vinod Rai (11th CAG of India), Arnab Goswami (TV Journalist), Imtiaz Ali (Director), Arjun Rampal (Actor) and Meenakshi Lekhi (Politician and an eminent lawyer).
