NMAT is the entrance test for admission to the Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai).
NMAT 2012 is being held for admission to various courses like: MBA Core, MBA-Actuarial Science, MBA-Banking, MBA-Capital Market, MBA-HR, MBA-Pharmaceutical Management at Mumbai campus and PGDM at Bengaluru & Hyderabad Campuses for the academic year 2012-14.
NMAT 2012 will be conducted in a time frame of 3 months starting from 31st October 2011 going on till 6th January 2012, allowing choice of two retakes. In such cases, the best of these three scores will be considered by NMIMS for admissions to its courses.
Online registrations have already started from 1st Aug 2011.
NMAT went from paper format to a computer based test from the year 2010.
NMAT 2010 took place in a 10 day window (30th Jan 2010- 8th Feb 2010)
NMAT 2011 took place in a 3 month window (1st Oct 2010-31st Dec 2010). This time studenst could take the test 3 times and the best out of the 3 scores was considered by NMIMS. There was also no negative marking in that year.
The duration of NMAT is two hours and has three sections, Quantitative Ability, Verbal Ability and Logical Reasoning.
Important Dates:
Registration: 1st Aug-10th Oct 2011
Late Registration: 11th Oct-20th Oct 2011
Scheduling of test: 8th Aug-25th Oct 2011
Rescheduling: 8th Aug-4th Jan 2012 (Rs 800 per reschedule)
Retake Scheduling: 31st Oct-4th Jan 2012 (Rs 1650)
Test Details
NMAT would be an objective type multiple-choice test. (There will be no descriptive type questions).

The candidate should note that it is important for them to perform well relative to other candidates in each of the 3 sections of the test as the score of each section and the overall score will be used to shortlist the candidate for the second stage of the selection process as well as in the final ranking. Please note that there will be no negative marking.
Please note that if the candidate is not satisfied by his/her NMAT score in the first attempt he/she may schedule for Re-take NMAT by visiting www.pearsonvue.com/nmims and logging in with the allotted username and password. In case of candidates taking more than one attempt the best score which is the total score & its respective sectional score, which make the candidate eligible as per the cut offs which will be declared by NMIMS will be considered for short listing for subsequent process. (Cut off means sectional as well as total score). The scores of all the attempts taken by the candidate will be declared on the NMIMS website.
