Features of NMAT 2013 by NMIMS (Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies)

The online entrance exam known as NMAT 2013 for admission to MBA & PGDM courses in Narsee Monjee Institute of Management Studies (NMIMS) Mumbai) for the academic year 2013-14, will be conducted in a window period between 11 October 2012 and 19 December 2012.

We have listed here the various features of NMAT 2013:

Section Order Selection - This is a new feature in NMAT 2013. NMAT-2013 will let the candidate choose the order in which he/ she wants to attempt each of the 3 sections. Each of the three sections have individual section timings and the candidates need to answer and review the questions of a particular section within the allotted section time.

In case a candidate completes the section (answering & reviewing) before the section time gets over, the balance time of the given section will not get added to the next section(s). The next section has its own time limits and candidate needs to complete the section in the allotted section time.

In addition to the new feature stated above, NMAT-2013 continues with some of the candidate - friendly features of earlier administrations:

10 Weeks Test Window – NMAT 2013 will be held from 11 October 2012 to 19 December 2012. Such a long test window period will allow the candidates to choose a test date based on their comfort level.

Self Scheduling Option – Candidates will be able to select the date and time of the test in a real time mode, based on the seats' availability at each of the centres.

Choice of attempts – Candidates have the option of taking NMAT 2013 more than once (upto three maximum attempts, including “no shows”). So if candidates are not satisfied with their first NMAT score, they have two more chances to improve their scores.

No negative marking - This feature of NMAT enables candidates to make informed guesses and not drop a question for the fear of deduction in marks. This system of absence of negative marking is as per global practices and psychometric principles.

Unique question paper for every candidate – Every candidate taking NMAT-2013 will get a unique but equivalent question paper.

Equated results - The NMAT 2013 scoresof a candidate will be declared within a span of 4-5 weeks from the date of the exam. These shall be equated to bring about parity and fairness and will help candidates know their performance in time.
