GATE 2020 Important Dates- IIT Guwahati will organize the GATE 2020, referred as Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE), a national level examination to get admission in post graduate courses (M.Tech./Ph.D.) offered by IITs, IISc and various other Universities/Institutes/Laboratories in India. The applications for the same will be accepted by GATE Online Application Processing System, which will be made online from 01 September 2020. The GATE Exam will be held on February 03- 04 & February 10- 11, 2020 (Saturdays & Sundays)

GATE is a computer based test that contains multiple choice questions and numerical answer type questions which are primarily concept based, fundamental, and thought provoking. In 2020, more than 9.23 Lac candidates have applied for the examination and the number is increasing tremendously every year. Last year, the candidates of Bangladesh, Nepal, Ethiopia, Singapore, United Arab Emirates and Sri Lanka were allowed to appear in the examination.
The GATE exam will be held in two sessions. The first session will be from 9:00 AM to 12 noon whereas the second session will be in the afternoon, from 2:00 PM to 5:00 PM.
Once the results are announced, the scores for the GATE exam will be released on the official website, tentatively in the month of March 2020. The GATE score is valid for three years from the day of declaration of the results. There are no restrictions and a candidate can attempt the GATE exam multiple times.
