About GUJCET 2012

GUJCET stands for “Gujarat Common Entrance Test”. GUJCET is conducted by the Education Department, Government of Gujarat and it has assigned The Gujarat Secondary and Higher Secondary Education to hold the GUJCET for admission into various medical, engineering and pharmacy courses in the state of Gujarat. GUJCET is open only to candidates who belong to the state of Gujarat.

The courses for which you can get admission by writing the GUJCET 2012:

• B.Tech - Bachelor of Technology
• B.E. - Bachelor of Engineering
• MBBS - Bachelor of Medicine Bachelor of Surgery
• BDS - Bachelor of Dental Surgery
• B.Pharm- Bachelor of Pharmacy

How to apply for GUJCET 2012

To apply for the Gujarat CET 2012, you need to send a Demand Draft of Rs. 250/- drawn in the favour of Secretary, Gujarat Common Entrance Test Cell payable at Ahmedabad or Gandhinagar.

GUJCET 2012 Exam Pattern

• The Gujarat CET is a written test of 3 hours. There are 4 sections in GUJCET-Physics, Chemistry, Maths & Biology.
• If you’re taking GUJCET for admission to the engineering courses, then you have to attempt Physics, Chemistry & Maths sections. And If you’re taking GUJCET for admission to the medical courses, then you have to appear for Physics, Chemistry & Biology sections.
• There will be 40 questions in each section of GUJCET 2012 & each question is of 1 mark. Your admission to different private and government colleges as well as universities are decided on the basis of your scores in the Gujarat Common Entrance Test (GUJCET). The exam pattern of the Gujarat common entrance test is given below:
• GUJCET examination comprises of multiple choice questions with each question carrying four alternatives.
• GUJCET is conducted in the English, Hindi and Gujarati.

GUJCET 2012 Eligibility Criteria

The eligibility criteria for GUJCET 2012 is as follows:

• Candidates who have passed Higher secondary certificate examination science stream conducted by the Gujarat secondary and higher secondary education board, Gandhinagar or the candidates who have filled in application form for appearing and eligible for appearing in the examination of std. XII science stream/ candidates going to appear in examination of std. XII science stream in the very year in which the candidate has filled in application form for Gujarat common entrance test.
• Candidates who have passed std. XII science stream examination conducted by the Central Board of Secondary Education (CBSE), New Delhi through the recognized school situated in the state of Gujarat or the candidates who have filled in application form for appearing in the examination of std. XII science stream through recognized school/candidates going to appear in examination of std. XII science stream in the very year in which the candidates have filled in application form for the Gujarat CET.
• Candidates who have passed std. XII science stream examination conducted by the council for the Indian school certificate examination(ICSE), New Delhi through the recognized school situated in the state of Gujarat or the candidates who have filled in application form for appearing in the examination of std. XII science stream through recognized school/candidates going to appear in examination of std. XII science stream in the very year in which the candidates have filled in application form for the GUJCET.
• Candidates who are the heirs of the officers/employees who are basically from the state of Gujarat but performing their duties in other states as the officers/ employees of Central/state government, Military Forces or the Board/Corporation governed by the Central/state government, who have passed std. XII science stream examination conducted by the Higher secondary education board situated in the state in which they are performing duties or the candidates who have filled in application form for appearing in the examination of std. XII science stream or the candidates going to appear in examination of std. XII science stream in the very year in which the candidates have filled in application form for GUJCET 2012.
