How to Apply for CAT 2011

First, check your eligibility criteria here.

If you are eligible, then get hold of a CAT 2011 Voucher which is available at selected Axis bank branches across the country. Get the list of Axis bank branches here.

Sale of Forms

The forms will be sold at various Axis Bank branches between August 17 and September 26, 2011.

Please note that you need to buy only one CAT 2011 Voucher irrespective of the number of institutes you are applying to.  Note that the Voucher must be bought only in your name as it appears in the school leaving certificate.  If the name has been changed due to events such as marriage, you must show the relevant document such as a marriage certificate and submit a photocopy at the time of the test, interview and at the time of joining a programme.  SC/ST candidates must show a copy of their SC/ST Certificates at the time of obtaining the CAT 2011 Voucher from the Axis Bank branches. 

Cost of Forms

For General Category applicants: Rs 1600
For Scheduled Caste and Scheduled Tribe applicants: Rs 800.

After you have the CAT 2011 Voucher, you are ready to begin the "online registration" process at www.catiim.in.

Make sure you have a unique and valid e-mail ID before you begin the registration process. Also make sure you have all the information you will need to complete the registration process, including your voucher, educational history, mark sheets (SSC, HSC, graduation), work experience, and a list of the IIM programmes to which you are applying. a

The registration process will be active on the site only from 17th Aug 2011 onwards. You will find a “Register for CAT 2011” link. Click on that link. 

You need to do 3 basic things to register:

  • Create a profile. 
  • Fill out the CAT application. 
  • Schedule your test.
