The Common Admission Test (CAT) is a coveted management entrance exam conducted by Indian Institutes of Management (IIMs) every year based on a policy of rotation. CAT is a pre-requisite for admission to various programmes offered at IIMs and other reputed management institutes across the country. While CAT is just the first step to getting into any IIM, the candidate must also fulfill a few other requirements to bag a seat at the prestigious B-School.
IIM Shillong has its own eligibility criteria and selection procedure for shortlisting candidates for its two post-graduate management courses namely, Post Graduate Programme in Management (PGPM) and Post Graduate Programme for Executives.
The sectional cutoff of CAT 2020 exam has been fixed at 70 percentile, while the minimum percentage in graduation should be 65 percent.
IIM Shillong accepts CAT Scores (current year scores) for admission to PGP applicants while overseas candidates can apply with GMAT scores (no earlier than 24 months prior to the last date of application).
For admission to PGPEX, applicants are required to qualify the CAT (appeared in the last two years) or GMAT (scores for the past three years)
