IIMC Entrance Test 2013: Exam Pattern & Preparation Tips

Indian Institute of Mass Communication (IIMC) is an autonomous organization funded by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. It is known as internationally known centre for training and research in mass communication.

IIMC conducts an Entrance Exam for admission to post graduate diploma courses in Journalism (English), Journalism (Hindi), Radio and Television Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations and Journalism (Oriya).

 

Pattern for the written examination:

There is no standardized pattern for the written examination. However, candidates will be judged on the following parameters:

a) For Journalism Courses:

i) General Awareness, including understanding of social dynamics; interest in social history; awareness of public debates on matters of polity and economy; awareness about international developments influencing power equations in the world and their impact on India.

ii)  Aptitude & mental make-up

iii) Language capability

iv) Analytical & comprehension skills

 

b) For Advertising and Public Relations:

i)  General Awareness

ii)  Aptitude & mental make-up

iii) Language capability

iv) Analytical & Comprehension skills

v)  Brand awareness & recall and

vi) Quantification skills

 

How to Prepare for IIMC Entrance Exam 2013

To crack IIMC admission test 2013, you are required to do lots of hard work. You should read newspapers, magazines, editorials and articles related to current affairs. Moreover, you should also watch T.V. news channels, discussions on current affairs, interviews of famous personalities and advertisements. You should also concentrate on your writing skills and grammar.

You can also use various reference books and sample tests available in market to prepare for IIMC test. You can also join various coaching centres to prepare for IIMC test for admission to post graduate diploma courses in Journalism (English), Journalism (Hindi), Radio and Television Journalism, Advertising and Public Relations and Journalism (Oriya).
