Indian Oil runs Asia’s largest network of Refineries, Pipelines, Marketing and Petrochemicals business and also has under it some of the most trusted brands like ‘Indane’ LPG and ‘SERVO’ lubricants. Indian Oil has now released its notification reagrding PSU recruitment through GATE 2020.
Indian Oil corporation has announced recruitment of engineering graduates (Indian citizens only) in all streams of engineering via the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering (GATE 2020). The notification also states that some engineering graduates may also be brought on board as Graduate Apprentice Engineers (GAEs), in line with the Apprenticeship Act, 2961 (and the several amendments thereafter), for postings in Refineries and Pipeline Divisions, but from selected engineering streams which would be Civil, Chemical, Electrical, Mechanical and Instrumentation streams. The apprentices will be offered a monthly stipend for a year, after which based on their performance, they may or may not be absorbed by the corporation. Indian Oil will be recruiting engineers for Indian Oil recruitment through GATE 2020.

Candidates who are interested in applying should have passed qualifying degree examinations and hold a bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology (full time regular courses only) from recognized Indian Universities / Institutes in the disciplines mentioned in the official notification released by Indian Oil.
Those candidates who belong to the General and OBC (non- creamy layer) categories, need to secure minimum 65% marks in qualifying degree examinations.
Qualifying marks are reduced to 55% for Scheduled Caste (SC)/Scheduled Tribe(ST)/People with Disability (PWD) candidates.
Candidates who are currently in their final year of engineering are also eligible to apply. However, once selected they should be able to provide their final mark sheet by August 31st 2020.
Maximum 26 years as on 30th June, 2020 for general category candidates. Age reduction is available for OBC (Non Creamy Layer)/SC/ST/PWD candidates, applicable as per the Presidential Directives.

Score of candidates in the Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineers (GATE) 2020 will be a determining factor in the selection. The graduate engineers who are interested in taking up a career in Indian Oil need to appear for GATE 2020 in the relevant disciplines.
On the basis of the GATE score, candidates will then be qualified for the next selection rounds consisting of a group discussion and group task and then finally a personal interview to assess a candidates’ understanding of different facets, skills and attitude. Candidates have to first successfully pass the GATE-2020 examination, and after that the GD/GT and PI to make it to the selection. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of GATE score, GD/GT and PI scores, and will as per each discipline.

Applications for both kinds of recruitments comprise of two stages:
Online registration for GATE- 2020 examination.
GATE examination will be held online on 4th and 5th February and 11th and 12th February. For detailed information on GATE-2020, log on to http://gate.iitr.ernet.in or on the websites of IITs (Bombay, Delhi, Guwahati, Kanpur, Kharagpur, Madras and IISc, Bangalore).
After downloading GATE 2020 admit card, use the registration number to fill the online application for Indian Oil, the link to which will be available from 5th January 2020 onwards on Indian Oil’s website www.iocl.com
On the website candidates need to click on the link for the ONLINE application, read the instructions stated and fill the application form very carefully, giving all the relevant and appropriate details, like the GATE registration number, etc. Candidates must also make sure that they fill in the correct registration number in the Indian Oil online application form, since the GATE scores will be retrieved by Indian Oil directly from the GATE authorities, so in case of mismatch of registration number, Indian Oil may fail to receive your correct GATE score.
Candidates should fill in the other details required and check the information boxes correctly, and tick correct options.
Once the form is complete, candidates should submit the application by clicking on Submit. Once accepted by the system a unique application ID will be generated along with the application form. Take a print out, fix a passport size photograph and sign where the space is provided for it, and keep it for future reference. Candidates must note that the photograph and signature should be the same and matching the ones on your GATE application form and admit card.
Upon being called for GD/GT and personal interview, the candidates’ identity will be verified with their GATE 2020 admit card, and GATE 2020 score card.

Those who are selected as Engineers/ Officers will be offered a starting basic salary of Rs. 24,900/-per month. In addition, they will be eligible to a Dearness Allowance (DA) and other allowances, as per the rule of the Corporation, and as has been amended from time to time. Additional allowances /benefits will include HRA/subsidized housing accommodation (depending on the place of posting), medical facilities, performance based pay, gratuity, contributory provident fund, employees pension scheme, group personal accident insurance scheme, leave encashment, leave travel concession (LTC)/ LFA, contributory superannuation benefit fund scheme, conveyance advance/ maintenance reimbursement, performance based incentives (PRP) etc as per rules laid by the corporation.
The Cost-to-Company (CTC), is going to be around Rs 12.00 lakhs per annum which will be inclusive of performance related pay (PRP). However, the actual CTC will differ depending on the place of posting, financial performance of the Corporation and also the performance rating of individual.
The executives’ remuneration is yet to be finalised.
