MAT Syllabus 2020 – Knowing the MAT 2020 syllabus is very important for the candidates writing the exam. It will give them a direction for the MAT preparation and they will be able to formulate an effective strategy for the exam. AIMA does not publish any official syllabus for MAT but on the basis of previous year’s question papers and trends, topics to study for MAT has been given in this article. Generally, aptitude skills of the test takers are evaluated and analyzed in the MAT exam. The MAT syllabus consists of total five sections i.e. Language Comprehension, Mathematical Skills, Data Analysis & Sufficiency, Intelligence and Critical Reasoning and Indian and Global Environment. Since MAT exam is one of the most anticipated competitive exams for admission to reputed B-Schools across India, it is important for students to prepare themselves thoroughly. It will help them to manage their time. They need to clearly know the MAT 2020 exam syllabus and study accordingly to obtain a good MAT score so that they can list their weaknesses and strengths.
Around1 lakh candidates appear for Management Aptitude Test every year. Scores of MAT is considered by more than 600 colleges across the country. MAT December 2020 will be conducted on 3rd and 9th December in offline and online mode respectively. MAT 2020 admit card will be released after the conclusion of the application process. Since MAT September result is out, application process of December attempt is expected to start either from the last week of September or first week of October. As the complete syllabus of MAT 2020 is divided into five different sections, applicants are required to prepare for each section separately to obtain a decent MAT score as each section consists of 40 questions carrying 1 mark each. Negative marking will also be done for every wrong answer. The topics of MAT syllabus covered under various sections are as follows –
This is very high scoring sections for the candidates who are good at English. Language comprehension consists of Grammar, Unseen passage, Spotting Errors, English Vocabulary, etc.
This is often one of the toughest and time-consuming sections. Mathematical skills consist of Percentage, Height & Distance, Number System, Time & Work, Profit/Loss, etc.
This section is mostly based on text, on tables and graphs. Data Analysis & Sufficiency consists of Line Charts, Puzzles, Series, Bar Charts, Table Charts, Pie Charts, etc.
Intelligence & Logical Reasoning consists of Sitting Arrangements, Problems on Clock, Verbal Reasoning, Non-Verbal Reasoning, etc. Following are the topics which are covered in this section:
Indian & Global Environment consists of General Knowledge, Current Events, etc. Candidates can attempt number of questions in lesser time and so there are chances to score higher in this section
