NEET PG 2020 Counselling is to be conducted by the National Board of Education (NBE). NEET PG stands for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Post Graduation and is a single, eligibility cum ranking examination held to give candidates admission to those who have done their MBBS in the top medical colleges as well as dental colleges. Candidates scoring high in the exam have to undergo NEET PG counselling to get admission into the college and specialization of their Choice. Scores obtained in NEET PG exam are accepted by the deemed universities, government and private colleges throughout the country. Also, those who want to pursue master's degree after their BDS have to clear NEET MDS.
Like the last year, NEET PG 2020 Counselling will be a centralized counselling and will be conducted for all the states, union territories and institutions across India. The Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) conducts NEET PG counselling on all India basis for All India 50 percent quota seats. Candidates who meet the eligibility criteria get admission following NEET PG counselling. It is mandatory for aspirants to register on the website for taking part in the NEET PG counselling. All the Indian states and Union Territories generate the merit list for admission in 50 percent state quota seats. Hence, for getting admission in the top ranking dental colleges, candidates should target their studies for the same now on.
In NEET PG 2020 counselling, medical councils of the concerned states and union territories will organize the counselling. There is no fee for attending NEET PG 2020 exam counselling process. However, candidates have to appear on the venue provided for the same as per the schedule on their own expenses. To better understand the NEET PG counselling, let us first know who and how the admission will be granted to students.
NEET PG 2020 counselling will commence soon after NEET PG 2020 result will be announced. NEET PG 2020 exam will be held in online mode only in the month of December 2020 and the result for NEET PG 2020 will be announced in the month of January 2020. Once the result is out candidates will be able to take the counselling process and it is mandatory to register on the NBE website for the same. The registration for the same is to start from the second or third week of March 2020. Candidates can access the full schedule of the counselling from the official website.
During NEET PG 2020 Counselling, seats will be allotted on the basis of various quotas on state and all India level. During the NEET PG counselling candidates will be given admission through the available quotas that include:
1) All India 50 percent Quota Seats: Medical Counselling Committee (MCC) of Directorate General of Health Services (DGHS) will conduct NEET PG counselling basis NEET PG 2020 Score.
2) State Quota Seats: The concerned state or designated authority or Concerned University will do NEET PG counselling basis NEET PG 2020 Results or rank.
3) Institutions/Universities/Deemed Universities/ Private Medical Colleges: The concerned/designated college authorities will conduct the NEET PG 2020 counselling for private medical colleges, institutions and universities.
4) Admission to Armed Forces Medical Services Institute: For admission to medical services institutions will be provided based on NEET PG 2020 exam score. The counselling process for the same is conducted by the Directorate General Armed Forces Medical Services (DGAFMS), Ministry of Defence government of India.
NEET PG admission process starts with NEET PG application and takes a new direction after the exam, result, all India rank and counselling. As per the DGHS, NEET PG 2020 counselling will be conducted in the three phases. More rounds of NEET PG counselling will be carried out basis the availability of seats remaining vacant. The verification of documents will also be a prerequisite without which no admission will be granted whatsoever. The last date to get the admission in any of the medical or dental colleges will fall somewhere in May 2020. Candidates are advised to download, save and take a printout of NEET PG 2020 result/scorecard and admit card for the smooth counselling.
