The Delhi University admission process in full swing has been somewhat interrupted in a few select colleges. A letter from the Directorate of Higher Education addressed to the 9 colleges that are either fully (100%) or partially (5%) funded by the government dated July 3rd, 2015 says, "This department is in receipt of information that your college is carrying out teachers/principals appointment. Therefore, it is once again reminded that no regular appointment should be made till the final formation of governing bodies". The Delhi government has instructed the colleges to abort their recruitment process until full-fledged governing bodies, which are to include government-nominated members, were incorporated in the system. The Aam Admi Party (AAP) has decided to nominate 5 out of the 15 governing body members in each college's committee. While Delhi government extends full funding to 12 colleges, the remaining 16 get five per cent funding.
DU’s apex committee had gone ahead and appointed full-time principals for 9 colleges that the government is currently funding, despite the government’s directive.
The AAP government had frozen regular appointments in the following colleges in April, 2015 as they were all operating with "truncated" governing bodies.
