One of the most reputed colleges under Delhi University, St. Stephen’s College has released the plan for admission in its 10 undergraduate courses. The college is to start the online application process from May 28 onwards. The online admission forms and prospectus will be available from May 28, whereas the college will conduct aptitude test and an interview for admission in any of its undergraduate courses between June 20 and July 9, 2020.

However, it’s not clear as of now whether the colleges be the part of Delhi University’s centralized online registration process. DU has already written to Jesus and Mary and St. Stephen’s colleges that are among the religious minority colleges with their own, separate admission process on the matter. A meeting for the same was conducted on May 23 2020 between DU authorities and principals of two colleges.

For the time being, the admission process for 61 colleges under DU is centralized and is likely to begin from May 28, 2020. As per the DU authorities, both the colleges can continue with their own, separate admission process but they should become the part of the centralized online process of DU. Both the colleges can’t give admission to students who haven’t registered in the centralized online process.   

This move is important and attracts attention since St. Stephen’s college was adamant on conducting a written test for admission into its undergraduate course even when teachers opposed it. As per the college, students who are in the cut-off list need to take a written test and appear for an interview to get admission.
