In a breather following the scrapping of AIPMT 2015 results by the Supreme Court and directive for fresh exam in 4 weeks, the Supreme Court of India, today, has granted another month to the Central Board of Secondary Examination (CBSE) to re-conduct and announce results of AIPMT 2015. The new deadline for AIPMT Entrance exam 2015 and AIPMT 2015 results has been extended to August 17, 2015.
This leverage was granted to CBSE following their appeal to the Supreme Court seeking permission for three months to organise the re-examination. The main reasons cited for this was short duration. CBSE was represented by Solicitor General Ranjit Kumar, who pleaded that the entire process of re-examination requires a minimum of three months.
Besides granting an additional month to CBSE to re-conduct AIPMT 2015 entrance test, The Supreme Court has also asked all the concerned institutes to help CBSE conduct the re-examination within four weeks.
Originally, the academic session for medical courses in India following AIPMT 2015 scores was scheduled to begin on August 1, 2015, but a re-test of AIPMT will surely set their academic calendar back by a few months.
All India Pre-Medical Test 2015 was scrapped due to mass cheating across various test centres in India. Justice R.K. Agrawal and Justice Amitava Roy concluded that the paper leak allegations are valid, and that students across 10 states used electronic devices to cheat during the exam. A total of around 6.3 Lakh students had taken the 2015 AIPMT exam.
