UPSC Civil Services (Main) 2012 Exam from 5 - 26 October 2012

The UPSC (Union Public Service Commission) will conduct the Main Examination of the Civil Services Examination from 5 October - 26 October 2012.

The Preliminary Examination of the Civil Services Examination 2012 was conducted on 20th May 2012 & the results of the same were declared on 28th July 2012.The 13092 candidates who qualified are now eligible to apply for the Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2012 [CSM Exam 2012].


These candidates have to register themselves on the UPSC website & submit their DAF (detailed application form) latest by 21st Aug 2012.


The Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2012 will be held at following centres:—

  7. Cuttack
  8. Delhi
  9. Dispur (Guwahati)
  10. Hyderabad
  11. Jaipur

  14. Lucknow
  15. Mumbai
  16. Patna
  17. Shillong
  18. Shimla
  19. Thiruvananthapuram


Important Dates for Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2012 [CSM Exam 2012]
 

  • For filling up the DAF (detailed application form) online: 1st – 21st August 2012
  • For submitting the printed copy of online Detailed Application along with enclosures/certificates and Summary Sheet at UPSC office: 27th August 2012



Applying for Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2012 [CSM Exam 2012]

(i) Candidate seeking admission to the Civil Services (Mains) Examination 2012 must apply to:

The Under Secretary (CSM),
Union Public Service Commission,
Dholpur House,
Shahjahan Road, New Delhi- 110069

on the prescribed application form after duly filling in information online and thereafter, further submit the printed copy of the Online application to the Commission. No deviation in online application and printed copy to be submitted will be allowed under any circumstances.
The last date for receiving printed copy of online Detailed Application along with enclosures/certificates and Summary Sheet is 27th August 2012.

The envelope containing the printed copy of the Online Detailed Application Form should be super scribed with “Detailed Application for CSM Examination, 2012” and must reach the following address on or before 27th August 2012:

Candidates are required to take the print out of the finally submitted online Detailed Application Form and sign on each page and submit it to the Commission along with certificates duly attested and Summary Sheet.


The Commission will not be responsible for the applications delivered to any other functionary of the Commission.


Application Fee for Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2012 [CSM Exam 2012]

In order to take the Civil Services (Mains) Exam 2012, you must pay to the Commission (UPSC), a fee of Rs. 200 (Rupees Two Hundred only) through Central Recruitment Fee Stamps.


Central Recruitment Fee Stamps (NOT postage stamps) may be obtained from the post office and affixed on the application form in the space provided therein. The stamps may be got cancelled from the issuing Post Office with the date stamp of the Post Office in such a manner that the impression of the cancellation mark partially overflows on the application form itself. The impression of the cancellation mark should be clear and distinct to facilitate the identification of date and the Post Office of issue.


Candidates residing abroad should deposit the prescribed fee in the office of India's High Commissioner, Ambassador or Representative abroad as the case may be for credit to account head "051-Public Service Commission-Examination Fees" and attach the receipt with the application.

Female candidates & SC/ST candidates don’t have to pay any fee.

OBC candidates are required to pay the full prescribed fee.
