UPSC SCRA 2020 Exam Pattern – UPSC SCRA 2020 is an all India-level recruitment examination conducted to appoint Special Class Railway Apprentices under the Indian Railways. These apprentices are commissioned, after four years of apprenticeship, as Class I Officer under ISME or Indian Railway Service of Mechanical Engineering. More than one lakh students appear for the examination every year which is conducted by Union Public Service Commission (UPSC).

UPSC SCRA exam for the year 2020 is going to be held in the month of July 2020 as per the official web portal of UPSC. The online registrations for the same are expected to start in February 2020 on UPSC’s website and are expected to conclude tentatively in the month of March 2020.

UPSC SCRA 2020 Exam Pattern:

UPSC SCRA 2020 will be conducted in two phases –

1. Phase I will consist of a written examination of carrying 600 marks.
2. Phase II will consist of a Personality test carrying 200 marks.

The written examination will consist of three papers namely, General Ability Test, Physical Science and Mathematics. Each of these papers will carry 200 marks and 2 hours will be provided for each paper. Thus, the 600 marks written examination will be for a total of 6 hours.

Candidates who clear the Phase I i.e. the written test will be called for Phase II i.e. Personality Test.

The overall marks obtained in Phase I as well as Phase II test will be considered to determine a candidate’s SCRA score based upon which the admission will be provided to candidates.
