The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will conduct a combined competitive examination for recruitment to Grade IV posts of the Indian Economic Service and Indian Statistical Service.

The Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2013, will be conducted from 9th November, 2013.

Those who wish to apply can do so online by visiting the official website of UPSC.

The online applications can be filled upto 16th September, 2013 till 11.59 pm.

The eligible candidates shall be issued an e-Admission Certificate three weeks before the commencement of the examination. The e-Admission Certificate will be made available on the UPSC website for downloading by candidates.

Eligibility

Age Limits:

The candidate must have attained the age of 21 years and must not have attained the age of 30 years on the 1st August, 2013 i.e. he/ she must have been born not earlier than 2nd August, 1983 and not later than 1st August, 1992. The Upper age limit is relaxable for candidates belonging to scheduled castes/scheduled tribes/ other backward classes and certain other categories.

Educational Qualification:

A candidate for the Indian Economic Service must have obtained a Post-graduate degree in Economics/ Applied Economics/ Business Economics/ Econometrics and a candidate for the Indian Statistical Service must have obtained a Post-Graduate degree in Statistics/ Mathematical Statistics/ Applied Statistics from a recognised University or equivalent.

Candidates who are in the final year of their degree course or have appeared for final year degree examination and are awaiting results can also apply. However, they will be required to submit proof of passing by the specified dates published in Commission's Notice for Examination.

Physical Standards:

Candidates must be physically fit according to physical standards for admission to Indian Economic Service/Indian Statistical Service Examination, 2013.
