About the Institute
The Indian Institute of Information Technology-Design and Manufacturing, was established in year 2005 by the Government of India under the Indian Societies Registration Act, for imparting skills to engineering students who can use IT in the field of Design and Manufacturing.

Commonly known as IIIT-DM Jabalpur, it is a part of the IIIT league along with Indian Institute of Information Technology and Management, Gwalior, Indian Institute of Information Technology, Allahabad, and Indian Institute of Information Technology, Design and Manufacturing, Kanchipuram.


About the Courses

IIIT-DM, Jabalpur offers undergraduate, postgraduate and doctoral level degrees in Computer Science and Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering and Mechanical Engineering. It also offers a unique Liberal Design Program which offers a Master of Design degree (M.Des).

IIIT-DM is inviting applications for admission to its Masters (M. Tech, M. Des) and Doctoral (Ph. D) programmes.


Eligibility

For admissions to PG level courses, the GATE (for M.Tech. programs)/CEED (Common Entrance Examination for Design) scores of candidates are considered along with the CPI (or Equivalent Grading System, e.g. CGPA) maintained throughout the Graduate course undertaken by the student.

(A) M.Tech (Regular and Sponsored): 

Computer Science & Engineering (CSE): 
B.Tech/ B.E in any engineering discipline 
OR
M.Sc in Mathematics, Statistics or a similar discipline 
OR 
MCA 
with 
(a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and 
(b) valid GATE score in Computer Science and Engineering/ Information Technology/ Mathematics/ Engineering Sciences (compulsorily with Sections Computational Science and Electrical Science) for regular students. 

Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE): 
B.Tech/ B.E in Electronics/Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering or a similar discipline 
OR 
M.Sc in Electronics/ Electronics Science/ Physics/ Mathematics or a similar discipline 
with 
(a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and 
(b) valid GATE score inElectronics and Communication Engineering/ Electrical Engineering/ Instrumentation Engineering/ Physics for regular students. 

Mechanical Engineering (ME):
B.Tech/ B.E in Mechanical Engineering/ Aeronautical Engineering/ Automobile Engineering/ Production Engineering/ Industrial Engineering/ Production and Industrial Engineering/ Metallurgical Engineering/ Manufacturing Science and Engineering/ Energy Engineering or a similar discipline
with
(a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and
(b) valid GATE score inMechanical Engineering/Production and Industrial Engineering/ Metallurgical Engineering/Engineering Sciences (compulsorily with any two of the sections Fluid Mechanics, Materials Science, Solid Mechanics or Thermodynamics) for regular students. 

Mechatronics:
Candidates with a Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering/ Electronics and Communication Engineering/ Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering/ Computer Science and Engineering are eligible for admission to this M.Tech. programme
(a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and
(b) valid GATE score in Mechanical Engineering/Electrical and Electronics Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Production Engineering, Computer Science and Engineering for regular students.
 
(B) M.Des (Regular and sponsored): 

B.Tech/B.E./B.Arch./ B.Des./ BFA/ M.Sc./ M.A./ MCA with
(a) minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree and
(b) valid CEED score for regular students. 

Minimum marks/CPI in Qualifying Degree for M.Tech./M.Des.: 55% marks / 5.5 CPI (on a 10-point scale) as long as it is at least seven percent higher than the minimum pass marks /CPI for General Category applicants and minimum passing marks for SC/ST/OBC applicants.
 
(C) PhD (Regular, Sponsored and External): 

Computer Science & Engineering (CSE):
M.Tech/ M.E in Computer Science & Engineering or Information Technology or a similar discipline with minimum marks/ CPI in Qualifying Degree. 

Electronics & Communication Engineering (ECE):
M.Tech/ M.E in Electronics/ Electronics & Communication Engineering/ Electrical Engineering or a similar discipline with minimum marks/ CPI in Qualifying Degree. 

Mechanical Engineering (ME):
M.Tech / M.E in Mechanical Engineering / Production Engineering / Industrial Engineering / Production and Industrial Engineering or a similar discipline with minimum marks / CPI in Qualifying Degree. 

Design(DS):
M.Des with minimum marks/ CPI in Qualifying Degree Minimum % of marks in Qualifying Degree for Ph.D.: 55% marks or CPI of 5.5 (on a 10-point scale) for General Category applicants and minimum passing marks for SC/ST/OBC applicants.
