The All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) will be conducting its entrance test for admission to the MBBS course offered by AIIMS & the 6 new AIIMS on 1st June 2012. 

The exam pattern of AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2012 is as follows:


The AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2012 is a Competitive Entrance Examination that will be 3.5 hours long, consisting of 200 objective type (multiple choice and reason-assertion type) questions from Physics, Chemistry, Biology and General Knowledge. The distribution of the questions is as follows:
 

Incorrect responses will be given negative marks. Each correct response will get a score of 1 mark and each incorrect response will get a score of “-1/3 “. No credit will be given for the questions not answered. More than one response will be treated as wrong answer and negatively marked.

The general standard of the Competitive Entrance Examination will be that of 12th class under the 10+2 Scheme/Intermediate Science. No syllabus for the examination has been prescribed by AIIMS.

Preparation Tips for AIIMS MBBS Entrance Exam 2012: How to Prepare for AIIMS 2012
 

• Plain old hard work is the answer to the pertinent question about cracking the AIIMS pre-medical test. Make sure you have the entire syllabus for the test handy. Acquire a set of standard text books from where you can learn and get familiar with all the fundamentals. You should ideally graduate to the other books after having cleared your basics.
   
• For those who think they need an external source of discipline, joining a coaching centre is good idea. Not only do they provide you with a schedule to follow on a daily/weekly basis, they also help you assess and gauge yourself against other students in the centre. It would be ideal if you can form a study group comprising of bright students.
   
• Old question papers are a gold mine of marks. It is a well-known fact that at least 10% to 30% of the questions in most pre-medical entrance exams including the one of AIIMS have repeat questions. Do not miss out on the opportunity to answer all such question correctly.
   
• Practice, practice and practice. Attempting at least 200-300 questions on a daily basis is the easiest way to get top ranks. Attempting questions adds necessary knowledge, refreshes memory and corrects previously retained incorrect concepts and facts. Take as many simulated tests as possible, emulating the actual examination’s timings and atmosphere.
