The job of a professional in airport operations is to ensure safety of the travelers and the airport; they make sure that flights are following all safety measures and on time.
They have to manage sound coordination with civil and environment engineers, pilots and air traffic control. Also, they monitor flight arrival, parking, loading, off loading, baggage/cargo, refueling and departure. They maintain air-to-ground & ground-to- air contact with the aircraft crew & pilots. In fact, they are responsible for the entire aircraft status and activities, so the job is not child’s play.
The downturn did impact airlines industry as any other industry, but not so much. Today, the Indian airlines industry boasts to be one of the fastest growing aviations industries of the world and claims for a continual growth in the near future too. Hence, one can easily foresee a plethora of employment opportunities in the field of airport operations too and accordingly, prepare to be working for the sector.

Depending upon the interest area, a person can find employment opportunities in environmental management; escorting, immigration and emigration checks, customer care, business operations, customs, facilitation, catering etc. One can be designated as airport operations supervisor, escort, coordinator, facilitator, officer, noise/environment officer and at the higher level the titles could be of airport operations manager, superintendent and director.
