105 proud young members of the National Service Scheme completed a rigorous and challenging 1 year program - the Community Connect Fellowship. Over the year, they mobilised over 800 college students and reached out to over 10,000 people in their localities, as a part of this internationally recognized program.
They were working on the Complaint Management System of the MCGM helping citizens solve local complaints. This year, the total complains filed was over 4000 - ranging from garbage and sewage to pest control and potholes.
The graduation ceremony was held on 12th April at Nehru Center - with Mr Pankaj Phatarphod, the MD of Royal Bank of Scotland in India being the guest of honor. He congratulated the fellows and inspired them to continue on the path of service in their own interest.
The program is anchored by The Blue Ribbon Movement, a social enterprise that builds leadership for a better world. The partners for the program include MCGM, Praja, Mumbai First and Desh Apnayen Sahyog Foundation.
