Admission in Delhi University will be tougher for candidates who had opted out of maths in Class 12th. Several courses in Delhi University (DU) require the students to have studied Maths as a subject in Class XII, failing which they are not eligible for admission in those courses.
Maths is an essential subject for admission to the two most sought after courses at DU, B.Com honours and Economics honours. Though, students can exclude Maths while calculating their best of four subjects, but clearing the maths exam in class 12th Board is a must. In addition to these, there is a list of courses which will not be accepting students who have not given their Maths examination in class 12th.

Students who wish to opt for Computer Science also need Maths as a subject in Class 12th. The basic eligibility for Computer Science is Maths, one language and two other academic subjects. A minimum of 50% aggregate marks are required for a course in Mathematics Statistics.
