GLA University successfully conducted a national level workshop on September 27, 2014.
Entitled as ETIR 2014, the work provided insights on emerging trends in Information Retrieval.
The workshop was open to Faculty, Student, Research Scholar, from academic institutions, research organizations, Engineers from industries, Government / Semi-Government agencies.
Main objectives of ETIR 2014:
- To provide exposure to participants with theoretical and practical concepts with emerging trends in Information Retrieval
- Hands on experience on retrieval engines like Terrier / Indri
- Online / Off-line Retrieval
- Cross Language Retrieval
Topic that discussed during the workshop:
- Precisiating Natural Language for a Question Answering System by Dr M. M. Sufyan Beg, Professor in Computer Engineering Department at AMU, Aligarh
- Basic Concept of IR, IR Models & IR Evaluation by Dr. Sujoy Das, Associate Professor in Computer Application Department at MANIT Bhopal
