What is Event Management?

Event management is a course that enables one to understand the ins and outs of meticulously planning, creatively organizing and perfectly executing a show, conference, concert, festival, convention, product and brand launch or any type of event. Event management is a controlled activity planned to target a specific group of audience, needs of a product showcased/launched and an event for a purpose. It is also known as niche marketing or experimental marketing.

The need for organizing events ranging from music concerts to celebrity appearances, charity and fashion shows across industries has increased the demand for professionals specializing in creatively planning, visualizing and selecting a venue to make an event successful.

To cater to the increasing number of students opting for event management as a profession, prestigious colleges and universities have started offering event management courses and diplomas.

Event Management at Undergraduate Level       

Those who want to pursue a career in event management can opt for various diploma courses, three years BBA in Event management & PR or even an integrated MBA (BBA+MBA) – a full time, five years degree course – after 10+2. Many colleges and universities within India offer certificate, diploma and degree level courses to enable candidates understand the intricacies of event management at different levels.

Eligibility Criteria

Candidates belonging to any stream (arts, science, and commerce) can opt for diploma and degree courses in event management after higher secondary exam (10+2).

Examination
