The much awaited Fresher’s Party at Management and Design Academy (MADA), New Delhi was held on 11th December, 2014. Fresher’s party named as MIDAS – 2014 manifested Fun, Frolic, Smiles and rejuvenated spirits and also marked the beginning of the new academic session.

The senior batch students whole heartedly extended a warm welcome to their junior counterparts. The day began with Ganesh Vandana by our new student of Fashion Design Department - Ms. Nandini Pandey. She marked the occasion as open with her fantabulous classical dance performance.

Honorable Director Mrs. Chinki Sharma, in her welcome speech, congratulated students on organizing a wonderful show. Accentuating the importance of being a disciplined designer, she stressed that it is essential to nurture and develop basic values in a student designer. She also said that she aspired to see Management and Design Academy amongst the top design colleges and that can be possible when each member becomes determined and works hard towards the goal.

Following the director’s speech, some amazing designs and ethnic attires were presented on the ramp with the touch of gold - MIDAS. Our young designers of the first semester showcased a garment each prepared under due guidance of their respective faculty members. Subsequent to the student’s presentation, the director’s breathtaking garments were also presented on the ramp.

Speaking on the occasion, Ms. Neha Bahl, Academic Director said “We are overwhelmed with the enthusiasm and talent of our new batch. These young boys and girls are future of our country and we can shape the future of our society by nourishing these young minds”. In her speech, she called upon students to participate in curricular, extra curricular and co – curricular activities with the same spirit as in the corporate world all-rounders are in very high demand. She further added that the students must show their hidden talents at such occasions.

The mesmerizing music, songs, flash freezing lights and exuberant students were defining moments in the party. The youngsters cheered and hooted for their peers and juniors. The new comers were introduced through catwalk on the ramp. In this way the formal introduction of juniors & seniors put a foundation of long term relationship.

Heart touch dance numbers, melodious songs of today and past era, jokes, mimicry and other cultural performance of the students made the environment extremely energetic. Students came out with different individual and group performances.

The main highlight of the event was Miss and Mr. Fresher Contest where winners were selected on the basis of their performance in three different rounds.

On this occasion, members from industry, heads of various departments, faculty members and students were also present.

International Collaboration

At MADA, we have collaborative arrangements with University of Bedfordshire, a UK based Public funded university of international repute. Students have an opportunity to progress to the University of Bedfordshire, UK to complete the final year/semester of their bachelor's/master's program respectively. In addition, the university also organizes summer programs of specific durations for students to come over at periodic intervals during their program and experience life and education in the UK.
