Established in 1952, the college is an autonomous body under the control of the government of the State. The college has a co-operative store and a post-office in the premises. ACCET’s campus spreads over an area of 144.39 acres. Admission to engineering programs at undergraduate and postgraduate levels is done on the basis of the performance in entrance exams. The college also offers scholarship to its students.
Established in 1994, the college is set amidst lush greenery and quaint ambience making it the ideal place for studying engineering. The college is affiliated to the Anna University. Admission in this one of the leading government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu depends on the performance in the State higher secondary school examinations; and CBSE students are enrolled on the basis of combined performance in Tamil Nadu Professional Courses Entrance Examination (TNPCEE) and grade 12 examinations. Applications for admission are accepted through both online and offline modes.
Established in 1966, the college is affiliated to the Anna University. It is one of the three only engineering institutions in Tamil Nadu offering Metallurgical Engineering. The National Board of Accreditation (NBA) has accredited all the undergraduate courses, excluding Computer Science and Engineering. Remaining among the leading government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu, candidates are selected for its undergraduate courses based on score in the TNPCC exam, conducted by the Anna University. For admission to postgraduate engineering courses, students are selected based on ranking in Tamil Nadu Common Entrance Test (TANCET).
Established in 1981, the state-owned engineering institute located in the town of Tirunelveli, which is often referred as the `Oxford of south India` due to the large number of educational institutions present. The college maintains six hostels, four for men and two for women. Candidates are selected for undergraduate courses on the basis of score in the TNPCC exam, conducted by the Anna University.
It is an autonomous state-funded engineering college, which is affiliated to the Anna University and has been operational since 1945. The college was formerly called Arthur Hope College of Technology and is held in high esteem among the government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu. For admission to undergraduate courses, candidates must have scored well in the grade 12 examination or its equivalent from a recognized university.
Established in July 1990, the college is fully governed by the Directorate of Technical Education of the Government of Tamil Nadu. The institute hosts many conferences and symposiums in order to get students familiar with technological advancement. Candidates are enrolled into undergraduate and postgraduate courses based on the entrance test, which is conducted by the Anna University.
IIT – Madras, founded in 1959, is one of the most prestigious government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu as well as in India. It has been recognized as an Institute of National Importance by the Government of India. The campus of IIT-Madras covers an area of over 2.5 square kilometer. The institute takes pride in having the fastest super computing facility among educational institutions in India. For admission to undergraduate courses, candidates should possess 60 percent (5 percent relaxation for SC/ST/PD) marks in aggregate in the grade 12 examination, and score well in Joint Entrance Examination (Main and Advanced).
National Institute of Technology – Tiruchirappalli
A public research institute, the National Institute of Technology - Tiruchirappalli is commonly known as NIT - Trichy. Also among the top ranking government Engineering Colleges in Tamil Nadu, the institute is housed at a campus spanning over an area of 800 acres. This college is well known for its entrepreneurial culture, which sets it apart from the rest. Those who seek admission into undergraduate courses must get through Joint Entrance Examination (Main). For postgraduate courses, candidates are selected through ranking in Graduate Aptitude Test in Engineering.
