ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning (ICFL) Announces Winners of StockMIND Season 4

ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning (ICFL) announced the winners of StockMIND Season 4, the largest inter-collegiate competition on stock investing with the aim of educating the youth on investing in the stock market in a unique and interesting manner. The winners were felicitated by Mr. Vineet Arora, EVP & Head of Product & Distribution, ICICI Securities Ltd and Mr. Neeraj Joshi Head-ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning.

StockMind Season 4 saw the number of participants almost double over last year, upholding the growing popularity of the competition which is India’s largest inter-collegiate competition on stock investing. StockMind was recently awarded the ‘Largest Competition on Stock Investments’ by the Limca Book of Records.

Every year, the programme begins with an informative seminar in every participating college where students receive an overview of the stock markets and basic process of investing in stocks. This is followed by StockMIND, a seven-day event, wherein the participants are ranked as per the value of their portfolio. StockMind is played using Virtual Money and does not involve any financial risk for participants.

StockMIND Season 4 saw several new additions including a section on personal money management which teaches students the basics on money management, an option to trade in derivatives. Season 4’s special attraction was an exclusive  segment for women participants.

The preliminary rounds concluded on March 04, 2020 and the winners from all the colleges battled in the Grand Finale which was scheduled between March 14, 2020 and March 22, 2020. This year 1.8 lakh students from 599 colleges across India in more than 80 cities participated in StockMIND.

Winners of StockMIND 4: Vishal from the Delhi School of Economics, Delhi was the winner of StockMIND Season 4. He won a cash prize of Rs One Lakh from ICICI Securities. Uday Kumar from New Horizon College, Bengaluru was the winner of the StockMIND Grads and received a cash prize of Rs Fifty Thousand.

Runner-ups of StockMIND 4:  Md Yasir Ali  from Lovely Professional University, Phagwara and Abhishek Kumar from  Benaras Hindu University, Varanasi  were adjudged the 1st runner up and 2nd runner up for the StockMIND Season 4. The 1st runner up and 2nd runner up for StockMIND Grads were Garima Bajaj  from IP College for Women, Delhi  & Hamza Qureshi from Rizvi College, Mumbai.

Women Winners of StockMIND 4: The title of Women Winner  StockMIND Season 4 was bagged by V Aruna from Chaitanya Bharathi Institute of Technology, Hyderabad.  Garima Bajaj was declared the women winner of StockMIND Grad.

On the occasion, Mr. Vineet Arora, EVP & Head of Product & Distribution, ICICI Securities Ltd congratulated all the winners and runner-ups. Commenting on the competition he said,” The response of this season of has been very encouraging. StockMind not only helps the students understand the nuances of equity investments but also helps them develop critical skill sets that would make them better corporate leaders of tomorrow.”

“Learning investments is an important life skill and is required by all youngsters. This is also demonstrated by the diverse set of students participating in the StockMIND contest. The 250 graduate and 340 plus post graduate colleges that have participated in StockMIND Season 4 include students from various streams and over 50 Engineering, Medical and Dental colleges. These also include majority of the premium colleges in the country.” added Mr. Neeraj Joshi, Head – ICICIdirect Centre for Financial Learning (ICFL).
