IIT JAM 2020 admissions have started at Indian Institutes of Science (IITs) and Indian Institute of Science (IISc) for Master of Science (M. Sc) programmes offered by the respective institutes. The candidates who qualified the JAM 2020 exam can apply for admission by logging into http://joaps.iitm.ac.in using their respective user ID and password. The students can apply for JAM 2020 admission process including counselling and seat allotment process for M. Sc programmes.
The candidates can fill the JAM 2020 application form in online mode. The application forms for IIT-JAM 2020 have been made available from April 15, 2020. The last date to submit the online applications is April 27, 2020. The candidate must fill the applications with the details like the choice of the programmes in order of preference, educational qualifications, the percentage of marks/CGPA score, category, PwD status etc.
The candidates are required to pay the JAM application fee 2020 of Rs. 600 through e-challan through State Bank of India (SBI) once they have carefully chosen the order of programme preferences based on ER and MEQ of the programmes at admitting institutes.
The applicants must lock their preferences for programmes and pay the application fee through the obtained SBI challan.
Once an offer is received, Applicants can log into http://joaps.iitm.ac.in and choose one of the three options viz.
a. Accept and Freeze b. Accept with Upgrade c. Reject and Quit
Accept and Freeze: If the student chooses, "Accept and Freeze", then he/she accepts the offered seat and would not like to upgrade to his/ her higher preferences, if any, in the subsequent rounds (if applicable). The applicant also will not be considered for admission in the subsequent rounds (if any).
Accept with Upgrade: By choosing "Accept with Upgrade", the applicant accepts the offered seat and would like to upgrade to his/ her higher preferences in the subsequent rounds (if any).
Reject and Quit: If "Reject and Quit" is chosen, the applicant rejects the offered seat and would not like to continue in the admission process by JAM 2020. The seat offered to the applicant would be cancelled and he/ she will not be considered further in the JAM 2020 admission process.
