Applications are open for IIT Mandi M.Tech Admissions for 2020. The last date for applying is April 18, 2020. Selected candidates will be called for an interview on May 13, 2020. Aspiring students can check the information hereunder for details.

The 2020 GATE cutoff for IIT Mandi is yet to be announced. However, candidates can refer to the 2020 GATE cutoff for information on the minimum score required to seek IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions.

Candidates seeking IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions must have qualified for bachelor’s degree in engineering/technology or a master’s degree in science or a master’s degree in computer applications and have a valid GATE score. Candidates who do not have a valid GATE score must hold a B. Tech degree from an IIT and must have a CGPA of 8.0 or above. Candidates who have a bachelor’s degree in engineering/ technology or a master’s in science from open/correspondence/distance education institute and who have a valid GATE score are also eligible to apply.
Candidates having associate memberships of professional bodies that are equivalent to B. Tech and having a valid GATE score can apply for IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions. The Senate shall make the final approval. Candidates sponsored by recognised research and development organisations/ government organisations/ academic institutions can also apply. However, they will not get any financial assistance.
Candidates for the M. Tech programme are admitted as – 1) Regular full-time with HTRA assistantship, 2) Regular full-time without HTRA assistantship, and 3) Full-time sponsored students by national laboratories/ research and development organisations/ industries/ established institutions.
• Candidates for M. Tech in Communications and Signal Processing must have a B.E/B.Tech in Telecommunication Engineering, Electronics and Communication Engineering, Electrical Engineering or Instrumentation Engineering, and a valid GATE score in ECE.
• Candidates for M. Tech in Power Electronics and Drives must have a B.E/ B. Tech in Electrical and Electronics Engineering or Electrical
• Candidates for M. Tech in Electrical Engineering with VLSI specialisation must have a B.E/ B. Tech in Telecommunication Engineering, Instrumentation, Electronics and Communication Engineering or Electrical Engineering and a valid GATE score in ECE/ IN/ EE.
The IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions procedure calls for candidates to register with the official website after which they will be sent their login credentials. The application form requires details on GATE discipline and preferred specialisation, in addition to standard details. A recent passport photo must be uploaded along with listed documentation. Candidates can apply at http://www.iitmandi.ac.in/

• Selection for IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions is based on valid GATE score/ qualifying criteria and interview/ written test
HTRA assistantship for M. Tech students is INR 12400 per month for both 1st and 2nd-year candidates.
Online application for IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions begins on 21st March 2020 and ends on 18th April 2020. Shortlisted candidates will be announced on 20th April 2020. The interview/ written test will be held on 13th May 2020.
Meritorious students may convert their programme from M. Tech to PhD. Terms and conditions will be laid down by the respective school and will be approved by the council.
Candidates who have been offered IIT Mandi M. Tech Admissions must fulfil certain requirements before they are awarded M. Tech degrees. These include –
• Registering and successfully completing every academic requirement
• Acquiring the minimum CGPA of 5.0 within the stipulated time
• No disciplinary action pending
• No dues pending to the institute, hostel, and library
As per 2020, the institute fee for new and earlier batch M. Tech students (to be paid every semester) is INR 7600 for both odd and even semesters. One-time payment fee for new entrants in the odd semester to be paid at the time of admission is INR 2750. New entrants in the odd semester must also pay a refundable deposit of INR 7000 and medical cover charges INR 950. Hostel charges amount to INR 18500 for all students.
The total fee payable for new entrants in an odd semester is INR 36800 while new entrants in an even semester are required to pay INR 26100. Total fee payable for students of earlier batches in an odd semester is INR 27050 and INR 26100 for students in an even semester.
The total fee payable for new entrants in an odd semester is INR 31800 while new entrants in an even semester are required to pay INR 21100. Total fee payable for students of earlier batches in an odd semester is INR 22050 and INR 21100 for students in an even semester.
