VAAHAN, the annual event organized by a group of students from
MCKV Institute of Engineering participants from across the country compete to design and fabricate a robot which has to go through the paces of off-road driving replicating the famous Baja races.
The 6th edition of VAAHAN was organized from 7th Feb 2015 to 9th Feb 2015 with over 125 students participating in as many as 34 teams. Most of the participants being 1st year students, the organizing team conducted a series of seminars talking about basics of robotics. The seminar was a pre-event which helped a lot of teams to prepare well and well ahead of time.
During the 3 day extravaganza participating teams competed in smaller events which tested their knowledge and business acumen in a holistic manner. The teams participated in sub events showing off the maneuverability skills, climb gradients and endurance of their bots amidst worst off-roading conditions. The tracks were designed by a group of 5 students, headed by Rishav Jain, the others being Raunak Gupta, Harsh Agarwal, Rounak Choudhary and Abhijeet Sharma.One full day was dedicated to quizzing which saw the organizers leave no stone unturned in entertaining the participating crowd.
The VAAHAN team was spearheaded by Vinit Ranjan Choudhary and supervised by their faculty advisor Mr. Sankar Chakrabarty.
