Today, June 23, 2014 is the last day for accepting online institute preference for students seeking admission to National Institute of Technology (NIT) 2014. Students must lock their institute preference online before 5:00 pm. Post the given time, students cannot access their locked choices. Seat allotments will be made on the basis of his/her rank and institute choices locked.

The NIT MCA Common Entrance Test (NIMCET) 2014 was conducted on May 25, 2014, it was a two hour exam held from 10:00 am to 12:00 noon. Students can apply to the eleven particpating NITs through NIMCET 2014. Participating Institutes are NITs at Agartala, Allahabad, Bhopal, Calicut, Durgapur, Jamshedpur, Kurukshetra, Raipur, Surathkal, Tiruchirappalli and Warangal.This exam enables admission in all the eleven participating NITs. The results for the same were announced on June 11, 2014.

The following options can be exercised by the candidates after the first and second round of allotments:

Option-1 : Candidates who wish to finalise the seat allotted to them and wish to join in the institute allotted to them. (Their higher preference choices, if any, will be ignored in subsequent rounds).

Option-2 : Candidates who wish to be considered in the next round for all of their higher preference choices (i.e. across institutes).

Initial fee:

Payment is in the form of Demand Draft for Rs.10,000/- drawn in favour of “NIMCET 2014”payable at any bank listed in the NIMCET 2014 website. The balance fee is to be paid at the time of actual admission in the respected NITs as per the fee structure mentioned in their individual website.
