The placement hustle has knocked at Government College of Engineering & Textile Technology , West Bengal as many industries have confirmed their visit in the month of September.

 

GCETT has informed that TCS has cancelled its visit due to some issue, though Wipro, Capgemini -IGATE, Tech Mahindra and few other will conduct the recruitment drive.

 

As the placement session is round the corner, Placement Cell at GCETT is trying hard to prepare its students. It is conducting aptitude and vocabulary training since two months.

 

As per the past record, the students of GCETT have been placed in reputed giants. The percentage of CSE recruitments have increased over last two years. Now almost 75% of the students succeed in getting jobs with an average package of INR 3.2 lakhs per annum. During the placement drive of the 2012-2020 batch, several students went home with two or more jobs in hand. These jobs were mostly grabbed during the pool campus drives, which included the participation of almost every government engineering colleges in West Bengal.

 

Thought the on-campus placement records of ME (mechanical engineering) students are not as much as others since it started its operation recently from 2010, the GATE results have been quite remarkable. More than 30% of ME students have cracked GATE this year (2012-2020 batch) from GCETT.
