On December 5, 2020, Sports club inauguration was held at Medicaps University. The main purpose of the Sports club was an initiation taken in favour of the students for a purpose of furthering their common interests in an activity through participations and competitions. The philosophy of this program is to promote physical well-being and overall development of a student also including their ability to think and act.
The Sports club Faculty Coordinators of Medi-Caps University are Dr. Yogesh Pandya (Prof. Incharge of Sports), Mr. Ruchir Lashkari (Faculty Coordinator), Mr. Gourav Manjrekar (Faculty Coordinator), Mr. Sukhdev Bamoboriya (Sports Officer) and the Sports Club Student Coordinators are Rakesh Kori (EE 7th Sem), Sonam Patel (EI 7th Sem), Himani Solanki (CS 7th Sem), Kabir Bhatia (Mech. 5th Sem), Dhanarddh S. Rajwade (Civil 3rd Sem), Neeraj Vishwakarma (Mech. 3rd Sem)
Events under the sports club are University Premiere League (UPL), Sport-O-Spark, Open tournaments- with IIM, IIT,BITS and other universities, Training, camps and workshops, Sports Exhibition, Tie-up with Sports Federation and Practice matches and the awards provided are Team of the Year (UPL), Star Sportsman of the Year, Coach of the Year, Captain of the Year, Community Sport Volunteer of the Year, All-rounder of the Year.
The aim and objectives of this sports club is:
To provide many opportunities to students to render their physical potential in various sports. To develop their inner potentials like leadership, team spirit, time management, concentration power and to provide better coaching facilities so that they can excel in their choice of sports.
Not only this, but also to provide easy access to sports equipments to the students. To honour the outstanding sportsperson and the best players with a reward of cash prize and various gift hampers.
To organize camps and to make mass awareness regarding sports and health in the city and nearby rural areas
This is the first year of Medi-Caps to become an University, and they are doing a great job and it’s really a very great thing that Medi-Caps family is putting all to make it no. 1. The speed they are going through will absolutely bring them to that position.
Medi-Caps not only pay interest in the academic skills of the students but also in the social, emotional, cultural skills.
The program started in Medi-Caps Auditorium by welcoming The Chief Guest: Dr. Sunil Dudhale (Director of Physical Education And Sports at Devi Ahilya University, Indore), The Chancellor: Shri R.C. Mittal, The Vice Chancellor: Dr. Sunil K. Somani, faculty member and Prof. Incharge Sports Dr. Yogesh Pandya, Sports officer Mr. Sukhdev Bamboriya, Prof. Gaurav Manjerekar and other faculty members.
The event started with the lamp-lighting and Then after brief description of our Chief Guest and other members, Ganesh Vandana with Dance by Ms. Aditi Namdev, Singing & Song by Anand Tatawat & group and many more.
Speech by Chief Guest dedicated to sports and vice-chancellor and then a brief description and games included under sports club and all details was provided. A sports journey of Medicaps was delivered by Mr. Ruchir Lashkari, He mentioned that sports not only gives you achievement but it also gives you spirit. He said that the students should always respect their Gurus, Should chain discipline and if they do so the success is theirs.
Then the mike was handover to Mr. Gaurav Manjerekr, his words were the sportsman should never lose. He should always keep trying and trying to achieve their set goals.
The sports membership forms are available for interested students. All in all the words of all were show your talent, do something, and present yourself apart from your CGPA. Memberships, financial aid and support are to be provided accordingly. “In the end, it’s extra effort that separates a winner from second place. However, winning takes a lot more than that, too. It starts with complete command of the fundamentals. Then it takes desire, determination, discipline, and self-sacrifice. And finally, it takes a great deal of love, fairness and respect for your fellow man.”
