Ar. Sen Kapadia along with Prof.Satish Tungare felicitating Prof.Gurunath Dalvi

"THIS RACE IS NOT OVER....BECAUSE WE HAVE NOT WON YET !"

These were the inspirational words given by Prof. Gurunath Dalvi, encouraging students and faculty of Aditya College of Architecture (ACA)and Aditya College of Design Studies (ACDS) to keep going and getting better. A new college in Borivali, amidst the metropolitan city of Mumbai, rooted by ideologies and visions of great personas is racing towards excellence. The "Teachers' day" was an event to shine a light upon the people who together are, with all efforts, working towards this excellence.   

The Teacher's Day Celebration commenced by "Lighting of Lamp" by all the dignitaries, Ar. Sen Kapadia, Chief Guest, Prof. Satish Tungare,Guest of Honor,  Prof. Gurunath Dalvi , Ar. Rajiv Mishra and Dr. Rajendra Vadnere, Special Guests,  Mr. Harishchandra Mishra,Founder Trustee, Aditya Group of Institutions, Mr. Aditya Mishra, Trustee, Aditya Group of Institutions, Ar.Aparna Surve, Principal, Aditya College of Architecture and Ar. Rasika Chodankar, H.O.D.  Aditya College, followed by wonderfully recited "Saraswati Vandana" by the  students and floral welcome of all the dignitaries.

Principal Ar. Aparna Surve in her speech welcomed all on the occasion. She explained to the audience how Aditya College is what it is today as a result of Founder Trustee Mr. Harishchandra Mishra's vision, Prof. Gurunath Dalvi's immense contribution and guidance of many personas like Ar. Hafeez Contractor, Ar. Prem Nath .Ar. Sukumar, Ar. Nitin Killawala and others. Principal Ar. Aparna Surve elaborately explained the academic activities of the college and also the new events initiated by the college like the Innovation Summit, Charles Correa memorial lecture, Seminars, workshops, college study tours, Public space design projects such as Railway station painting etc. and proudly showcased the achievements of her students in other competitions like Rookies and Society Interiors.

She further gave a brief introduction of "International Design Competition", an initiative of Aditya College of Architecture to reach out to architecture students from 118 nations belonging to UIA (International Union of Architects).

"This year, ACA is initiating the ‘Borivali Design Fair 2020’ for the people of Borivali", for 3 days on December 16,17,18  2020, generating interest amongst common people regarding art , architecture and design.

Prof. Gurunath Dalvi and Dr. Rajendra Vadnere were felicitated by Ar. Sen Kapadia and Prof. Satish Tungare, for their exceptional contribution to the field of education. Prof. Saitish Tungare and Prof. Gurunath Dalvi beautifully explained "what a teacher really is".  While Physicist Dr. Rajendra Vadnere explained the concept of teacher on basis of the Hindu Shlok "Gurur Brahma", Architect Gurunath Dalvi said "Everyone around you is a teacher". The Chief Guest, Ar. Sen Kapadia elaborated on the education of Today. He encouraged the Teachers to give freedom to all students to be creative and concluded his speech by an inspirational quote "Angels can fly because they take themselves lightly".

The occasion was blessed with the presence of eminent Architects like Ar. Prem Nath, Ar. Prakash Sapre, Ar. Nitin Killawala, Ar. Natubhai Badheka, Ar. Kishor Pradhan, Ar. Sukumar Dharmadhikari and many more. These eminent Architects felicitated all ACA & ACDS faculty members and inspired all the students. The Charles Correa Memorial Design Award was given by Ar. Sen Kapadia to Dhruv Raja, a student of fourth year B.Arch who ranked first in Architectural design. Dhruv Raja also inspired his fellow students and his juniors with a few words.
