VIT University is delighted to announce that ‘team Vimaanas has been awarded the 2nd prize in the ‘Design Report’ category at the recently concluded SAE Aero Design East, 2020, held in Fort Worth, Texas. This is the first time in the history of the SAE Aero Design Competition that this award goes to an Asian team.

 

Team Vimaanas specializes in the design and fabrication of Unmanned Aerial Vehicles and has been performing exceedingly well in the SAE Aero Design competition, since its inception in 2010.  The competition witnessed 75 teams from all across the globe including Georgia Institute of Technology, Wroclaw University of Technology, University of Michigan, Mcgill University, etc, with several institutions from India IIT Kanpur, NIT Jamshedpur, Manipal Institute of Technology, etc. participated in the competition.
