Affiliated to the University of Delhi, LSR is an all-girls college, currently ranked among the best arts colleges in the country. It is located in the heart of South Delhi in Lajpat Nagar. Providing a Bachelor in Journalism and Mass Communication, LSR is known for its rigorous academic orientation, overall modern infrastructure and excellent faculty.
Application Procedure: Application forms are available on the DU website and at the college itself. Admissions are based on the cut off list released by the college/university.
Important Dates: DU forms are released by mid-June. Cut offs are released in June end.
Xavier’s is a college under the University of Mumbai and is situated at the Mahapalika Marg in South Mumbai. It is considered to be one of the leading colleges for liberal arts and is at the top of every Mass Comm & Journalism aspirant’s list. It boasts of its highly academically inclined programme which is theory intensive along with providing a practical insight into the field.
Application Procedure: Forms are available on the website post which a student must take the BMS/BMM Entrance Examination. Admission is granted on the basis of the student’s board examination marks and entrance exam result.
Important Dates: Entrance exam forms are released early May. Exam is held during the first week of June.
SIMC is a media institution under the Symbiosis International University in Pune. It is a private university, which is famous for its internationally designed curriculum. The curriculum provides a fine balance of theoretical knowledge and practical exposure. Infrastructurally excellent, it prides itself on the smart classrooms, a completely modern campus, comfortable hostel accommodation for girls, and other such features.
Application Procedure: Application forms are available on their website, post which one must take Symbiosis Entrance Examination (SET). On the basis of its result, shortlisted candidates are called in for a personal interview and media test.
Important Dates: Application forms are released by mid March. Entrance exam is held mid May. First Merit List is released first week of June.
