Indraprastha College for Women is the only Delhi University College to provide the unique self-financed undergraduate course in Journalism.
Following list includes brief descriptions of all the Delhi University colleges providing Journalism and Mass Communication undergraduate courses:
Established in 1987, Delhi College of Arts & Commerce provides a Bachelor’s degree with honours in Journalism. The college provides four Bachelors with honours programmes in Arts and two Bachelors programmes in Commerce. Delhi College of Arts & Commerce also provides Certificate courses in foreign languages, mass media and woman’s development studies.
Cited as the oldest women college of Delhi University, Indraprastha College for Women was founded in 1924. The college campus is recognised as a heritage site and a major landmark in Delhi. It is known for providing the self-financed course in BA (Hons) Multi Media and Mass Communication, popularly known as BMMMC. The college provides 11 courses in B.A. (Hons) and 8 postgraduate courses in M.A. In addition, the prestigious institution also provides a few postgraduate and undergraduate courses in Science.
Founded in 1961, the Institute of Home Economics became a constituent college of the prestigious Delhi University in 1969. In addition to offering a Bachelor’s degree with honours in Journalism, the institute provides nine undergraduate courses in Science, out of which seven are with honours degrees. The Institute of Home Economics provides two postgraduate courses in Science, a Doctoral degree in Home Science and two postgraduate diploma programs.
Recognised as one of the most prolific Delhi University colleges, Kalindi College provides aspirants with the chance to pursue an undergraduate degree with honours in journalism. Ever since its inception in 1967, the college is working rigorously towards the empowerment of girls, especially those belonging to the underprivileged section. The institution provides 17 undergraduate courses in Arts, Science and Commerce, out of which 11 are with honours. Additionally, Kalindi College provides two Certificate courses in French Language and Video Production.
Known as one of the best women colleges under Delhi University, Kamala Nehru College was founded in 1964. The institution provides 12 undergraduate courses in Arts, out of which 10 are honours courses. Moreover, the college provides two undergraduate courses in Commerce, i.e. B.Com and B.Com (Hons).
Founded in 1956, Lady Shri Ram College for Women provides an undergraduate degree in B.A. (Hons) Journalism. The college provides 10 undergraduate courses in Arts, two in Science and one in Commerce. Lady Shri Ram College for Women also provides seven postgraduate courses in Arts and three Certificate courses in foreign languages, namely French, Russian, and Spanish.
Maharaja Agrasen College is one of the few Delhi University colleges, which provide an undergraduate degree in Journalism. The educational institution provides six undergraduate courses in Arts, three in Science and one in Commerce. Additionally, the institution offers an Advanced Diploma in TV Programme & News Production.
Founded in 1973, Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College is the only name on the list of BJMC colleges Delhi University. It provides 10 undergraduate courses, out of which 8 are in Arts and two are in Commerce section. Sri Guru Nanak Dev Khalsa College offers two postgraduate courses, i.e. M.A. Punjabi and M.Com, and two Certificate courses in Basics of Computer and its Applications and Tourism.
